Lawrence William Daniel (Larry) Schulz – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TWP.)
Lawrence William Daniel (Larry) Schulz, 30, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died Sunday evening, Dec. 30, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born May 30, 1982, in Berlin, Germany, he is the son of Detlef Horst Gunther Schulz of Germany and Susan M. Faulk of Georgetown. Larry was employed as an electrician in the construction industry. He was a graduate of South Side School, class of 2000, and also was a graduate of Penn State University. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, snow boarding and being a new father.
Charles J. LaRue Jr. – HOOKSTOWN
Charles J. LaRue Jr., 80, of Hooks-town, died Thursday evening, Jan. 3, 2013, with his wife at his side in the West Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center, Moon Township.
Born June 12, 1932, in Monaca, a son of the late Charles J. Sr. and Jeanette (Rounds) LaRue, he had retired from Arco Polymers as a maintenance supervisor. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marines as a sergeant. He loved fishing, carpentry work and was an avid Steels fan.
Anna E. Searight-Whitehill ‘Grandma’ – GEORGETOWN
Anna E. Searight-Whitehill "Grandma", 98, of Georgetown, affectionately known as Grandma, died peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on Saturday evening, December 29, 2012.
Born March 14, 1914, in Raccoon Township, she was a daughter of the late David Harrison and Rachel Agnes (Brooks) Searight. Mrs. Whitehill was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church of Georgetown.
James D. Smith – MIDLAND
James D. Smith, 76, of Midland, died Sunday morning, December 2, 2012, at UPMC – Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born May 28, 1936, in Raccoon Twp., he was a son of the late Dawson J. and Mary Margaret (Morris) Smith. He had worked as an electrician retiring from J&L Steel Company. A veteran serving in the U.S. Navy, he was the former owner of the Book and Bible House in East Liverpool; a member of the Glasgow Lodge 485 F&AM, Shippingport, and a member of the Chapel PCA Church, Brighton Twp.
John A. Mayhue – ALIQUIPPA (RACCOON TWP.)
John A. Mayhue, 80 of Aliquippa (Raccoon Township), died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, Nov. 30, 2012, in Heritage Valley Beaver,
Born July 15, 1932, in Monaca, he was a son of the late Harry G. and Leona H. (Volkman) Mayhue. He was a retired steel worker from the J&L Aliquippa Works, having worked in the 14-inch mill department. He was an avid hunter and was one of the co-founders of the Green Valley Sportsman's Club.
William F. McMasters – GEORGETOWN (GREENE TOWNSHIP)
William F. McMasters, 61, of Georgetown (Greene Township), died unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2012, at his Georgetown residence.
Born Oct. 21, 1951, in East Liverpool, OH, he was a son of the late James F. and Elizabeth (Dawson) McMasters. He worked in maintenance with Penn Power and later retired from the shipping dept. of ATI in Midland. He was currently on the Greene Township Planning Commission. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed college football.
Robert G. Fobes Sr. – SEWICKLEY
Robert G. Fobes Sr., 80, of Sewickley, died Wednesday morning, November 21, 2012, in the Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.
Born Feb. 10, 1932, in Neville Island, he was a son of the late William and Mary Ellen (Hunter) Fobes. He worked as a dispatcher with J&L Steel.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a stepson, Tim Smith; a brother, Paul Fobes and his first wife, Phyllis (Hicks) Fobes.
Inez V. Covert – GEORGETOWN (GREENE TWP.)
Inez V. Covert, 91, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Saturday morning, Nov. 17, 2012, in the comfort of her home with family at her side.
Born Nov. 2, 1921, in Newell, W.V., she was the last surviving child born to the late John and Laura (Miller) Swan. A homemaker, she was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed game shows and was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church.
Jennifer M. Wakefield – BEAVER (VANPORT TWP.)
Jennifer M. Wakefield, 66, of Beaver (Vanport Twp.), died Thursday afternoon, November 15, 2012, in the comfort of her home with her husband at her side.
Born July 26, 1946, in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Nicolina Perna. A homemaker, Jennifer was a member of the Monaca Chapter of the Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
Ruth A. Cain – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TOWNSHIP)
Ruth A. Cain, 78, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2012, at her Hookstown residence.
Born June 30, 1934, in Hookstown, she was the only child born to the late Harold W. and Mary Elizabeth (Mercer) Cain. Ruth was a retired teacher, a well known nature lover and had been a columnist for the Panhandle Press.
