Robert Lynn Buckley – New Cumberland, West Virginia
Robert Lynn Buckley, 99 of New Cumberland, West Virginia passed Thursday morning, November 23, 2023 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born March 3, 1924 in Beaver, he was the last surviving child born to the late Charles E. and Belle (Lynn) Buckley. Buckley was a retired steel worker having worked at J&L Aliquippa works in the 30-inch round mill serving as assistant superintendent. He was also a member of the Freedom Masonic Lodge #328. Also, an 80-year member of the Hookstown Grange and a 38-year member of the Hookstown Fair Board.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Maxine Buckley, a son James Richmond Buckley and sons-in-law David Mengel and John Bower. Continue reading
Louis V. George II – Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.)
Louis V. George II, 82 of Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.) passed Sunday evening, November 19, 2023 at the Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh. Born July 10, 1941 in Sugar Creek, Pa. He was a son of the late Louis V. George I and Thelma Geneva (Owens) George. Louis was a United States Navy Corpsman Retired, a graduate of Quaker Valley High School, class of 1961, his biggest joy was spending time with his family, reading his bible and building lego models.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou George in 1999 and a sister Elaine. Continue reading
Kami Lynn Brooks – East Liverpool
Kami Lynn Brooks, 60 of East Liverpool passed Thursday afternoon November 16,2023 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born September 9, 1963 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Shirley Ann (Brown) Brooks.
Kami had worked in Technology Security in the Banking industry. She is survived by a brother Christopher Brooks and her sisters Susan Vistein and Jennifer Brown. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
No services are planned and cremation will take place. Professional services provided by the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA. 15050.
Mary Ann Janke – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)
Mary Ann Janke, 93 of Hookstown (Greene Twp.) passed Thursday evening, November 16, 2023 at Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center. Born August 1, 1930 in Chester, West Virginia, she was the last surviving child born to the late Robert and Nellie Margarette (McDonald) Johnson. A homemaker, Mary enjoyed gardening and sewing and had belonged to Service Creek U.P. Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Alvin Janke in 1997, brothers and sisters in laws Robert and Charlotte Johnson, Sidney and Ginn Johnson James “Bruce” and Mary Lou Johnson, and a sister and brother-in-law Eva Jane and Dale Torrence.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, Chris (Frances Ann Veal) Janke and Cindy K. and John Davis. Grandmother of seven, great grandmother of eight, and great great grandmother of one. Continue reading
Robert John “Bob” McCoy, Jr. – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)
Robert John “Bob” McCoy, Jr., 71, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) passed away on Wednesday evening, November 8, 2023 of PSP with his family at his side. Born April 27, 1952, in Sewickley, PA, he was the son of R. John McCoy and the late Mary (Inglefield) McCoy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Deborah (Beal) McCoy, and his children and their spouses, Erin and Michael Patterson and Ryan and Jessica McCoy. He was “Pap Bob” to 5 grandchildren who he was so proud of: Sarah, Hannah, and David Patterson and Liam and Genevieve McCoy.
He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Dennis and Judith McCoy, Raymond and Maria McCoy, Marsha and John Andzans, and Beverly and Jimmy Reed. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lillah Beal and a sister-in-law and her husband, Pam and Paul Davidson. He was an uncle to 7 nieces and nephews. Continue reading
Sheila K. Collins – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)
Sheila K. Collins, 76 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) passed Friday afternoon, November 3, 2023 at Heritage Valley Sewickley with her children at her side. Born June 10, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Wade and Eleanor (Stephens) Rider.
She was also preceded in death by her husband Richard Collins and her brother Thomas Rider.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Thomas (Nikki) Littell, Tracia (Robert) Hoffmaster, Tyra (Brandon) Barish and her stepson Ron (Trudy) Collins. Grandmother of eight, Austin Fisher, Alayna Littell, Rider Daas, Izabella Littell, Kyler Daas, Peyton Littell, Lane Shoenberger and Leia Barish. Continue reading
