James A. Adams, 86, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away on Tuesday, November 4th at his home following an extended illness. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Willard, Kentucky, a son of the late Vess and Carrie McKinney Adams. James retired in 2004 as Field Superintendent from Pennsylvania Drilling Co., after 48 years of service. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ in East Liverpool, Ohio, as well as a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge 626 in Willard, Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers: Sheldon and William Adams, six sisters: Mary Triplett, Loretta Griffith, Charlotte Kelly, Rebecca Young, June Maness, and Gloria Savage. Continue reading →

Marian L. Chaney, 93 of New Cumberland, W.V. (formerly of the Georgetown area) passed Wednesday morning, November 5, 2025 at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born December 16, 1931 in Georgetown, she was the daughter of the late Robert & Alice (Pinney) Conkle. Marian had retired from the Bayer Corp. in Robinson twp as a receptionist.
