James A. Adams – New Cumberland, WV
James A. Adams, 86, of New Cumberland, WV, passed away on Tuesday, November 4th at his home following an extended illness. He was born on June 11, 1939, in Willard, Kentucky, a son of the late Vess and Carrie McKinney Adams. James retired in 2004 as Field Superintendent from Pennsylvania Drilling Co., after 48 years of service. He was a member of the Second Church of Christ in East Liverpool, Ohio, as well as a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge 626 in Willard, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by two brothers: Sheldon and William Adams, six sisters: Mary Triplett, Loretta Griffith, Charlotte Kelly, Rebecca Young, June Maness, and Gloria Savage.
He is survived by his wife, Dreama Hunnicutt Adams, his son, Bryan (Veronica) Adams, his daughter, Jacqueline (Bret) Apple, two grandsons: Aaron Adams and Sean (Stephanie) Adams, two granddaughters: Erica (Sawyer) Schaef and Staci (Matthew) Cooper.
He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Tyler, Emma, Annika, James, Cami, Xander, Rowan, and Ian, and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Jackie Kitchen. In addition, he will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Visitors will be received at McConnell Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13th, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA, 15050, from 1:00 – 2:00 with a service following from 2:00 – 3:00. A graveside service will be held at Kouns Family Cemetery in Grayson, KY, on Saturday, November 15, at 3:00
