Nancy J. Mayhue – Raccoon Township

Nancy J. Mayhue, 90, of Raccoon Township passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, August 15, 2025. Born on March 15, 1935, to the late Claire (Shaffer) and Frank Cook. She was the wife of John A. (Jack) Mayhue Sr. whom she was married to for 61 years before his passing in 2012. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also predeceased by her son John A. (Jack) Mayhue Jr., her brother Melvin Cook, brother-in-law Bill Compston and sister Carmen and most of her husband’s siblings. Continue reading

Carol L. Lugowski – Hookstown

Carol L. Lugowski, 87 of Hookstown passed Friday morning, August 15, 2025 in the comfort of her home of 51 years with the love of family around her. Born January 13, 1938 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Olive (Woods) Porter. Her story, her song praising her Savior all day long. Carol was a devoted member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. Her first job was at Pittsburgh Mercantile, she then met the love of her life while working at Sewickley Valley Hospital from 1961 until 1964. To then retire from the Medical Center Beaver as an EKG technician in 2008. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and crafting. Continue reading

Sarah Lombard – Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro)

Sarah Lombard of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro) passed peacefully on Saturday morning, August 9, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born July 3, 1929 in Hookstown, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Marguerite (Ewing) Lombard.

Sarah lived for over 50 years in Long Beach, California where she worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the Veterans Hospital. She also worked for many years providing private home care following her retirement. Continue reading

Alice J. Allison – Raccoon Township

Alice J Allison of Raccoon Township, passed peacefully at home in her sleep August 3rd, 2025.

Alice was born June 30, 1938 to Herman and Anna (Fedinez) Cujas. They moved from Midway to Raccoon Township June 30, 1951, where she lived until her passing. She married the love of her life Thomas Allison Sr. on October 15, 1960, they were married for 64 years.

They bought the family farm and raised their 2 children Vikki and Tommy. She loved cats and had a slew of them over the years. Alice was employed with Stone and Webster, and was present when they brought the nuclear reactor online. After retirement she sold Tupperware and made many friends.

She is proceed in death by her parents and daughter Victoria L. Dalton. Continue reading
