Harold R. “Butch” Heizler Jr., 80, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Thursday morning, June 18, 2015, while in the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born October 31, 1934, in Wheeling, WV, he was a son of the late Harold R. Sr. and Gladys M. (Cowan) Heizler. Mr. Heizler had worked as a millwright with the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp., Aliquippa. Continue reading
Sarah L. Reddinger – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)
Sarah L. Reddinger, 91, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully in the comfort of her home with family at her side on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2015.
A lifelong resident of Hookstown, she was born there on October 14, 1923, the last surviving child born to the late Fred and Pauline (McClurg) Martin. Mrs. Reddinger had worked as a clerk with Kmart in Washington and Weirton. She was an avid seamstress who enjoyed sewing and had made numerous quilts in her time. Continue reading

Charles J. Jungfleisch, 73, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Friday morning, June 12, 2015, with his family at his side while in the care at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born in Pittsburgh on July 5, 1941, the only child born to the late Adolph and Mary (Manavich) Jungfleisch, he worked as a truck driver hauling steel. Continue reading

Martha M. Mayhue, 88, Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Monday evening, June 8, 2015, in the emergency room of Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born April 9, 1927, in McGuffey, Ohio, the last surviving child born to the late Freed and Ora (Hackworth) Ziegler. A homemaker, she was an avid baker, creating many wedding cakes in her time, enjoyed quilting, sewing and raising greyhounds. Continue reading

Evelyn Virginia Waxler, 90, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Sunday morning, June 7, 2015, in the comfort of her home with family at her side.
Born December 3, 1924, in Chester, WV, she was a daughter of the late James Whittem and Clara Etta (Reynolds) Halstead. A homemaker, she enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing. Continue reading

David K. Cooper Sr., 61, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), passed away unexpectedly on Sunday afternoon, May 31, 2015.
Born May 16, 1954, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late William and Anna (Krizan) Cooper, he was a heavy equipment operator for Alex E. Paris Contracting of Atlasburg. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Hookstown Post No. 952, and a member of the US Steel Workers Local No. 14693. Continue reading
