Donald G. Gardner – Shippingport
Donald G. Gardner, 95, passed from this world peacefully on November 23, 2024 in his home at Apple Blossom Senior Living, where he had resided for the past three years.
He was born on January 12, 1929 in Rochester to the late Carl and Irene (Cotter) Gardner.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in Midland in 1946 and furthered his education at Geneva College, where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Continue reading
Daniel J. Frederick – Hookstown (Hanover twp.)
Daniel J. Frederick, 68 of Hookstown (Hanover twp.) formerly of Carnegie and Port Allegany passed Saturday evening, November 9, 2024 at UPMC Passavant, North Hills surrounded by his beloved family. Born December 11, 1955, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John P. and Esther (Bowman) Frederick. Dan worked as maintenance in the glass manufacturing industry. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the South Side Sportsman Club and Roulette Fish and Game Club. Dan was a man who appreciated being surrounded by nature and it’s beauty, while spending time at his camp with family and friends. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church of New Cumberland West Virginia.
He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Jan E. (Merritt) Frederick. Dearest father of Jonathan and his wife Bre Frederick, Daniel and his wife Jess Frederick, and Kelly and her husband Jared O’Neill. Brother of Patricia and her husband Nelson Rhodus. Proud grandfather of 4, Nora, Hank, Wyatt, and Leila. Proceeded in death by his brother John and Sister-in-law Norma Frederick. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Continue reading
Lanny M. Winters – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)
Lanny M. Winters, 77 of Hookstown (Greene Twp.) passed peacefully, Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.
Born August 17, 1947 in Rochester. He was a son of the late James M. and Beulah (Scott) Winters. He worked at First Energy Nuclear Power Plant in Shippingport. He was a member of the Hookstown American Legion, a veteran, serving as a Sgt. in the National Guard, and attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. Continue reading
