Mary Hamm – Hookstown

Mary Hamm, 72, of the Hookstown area passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026 surrounded by family at Heritage Valley Beaver. Mary loved to spend her time with family and friends, often taking trips or grabbing dinner and a drink. She enjoyed taking care of her hanging baskets and plants while watching the hummingbirds they would attract. More than anything she loved attending all of her grandchildren’s many sporting activities and events. Mary spent many years as a stay-at-home mom taking care of her family before becoming a paraprofessional at South Side Area School district. She connected deeply with the students she worked with and became compassionate about autism awareness. Continue reading

Janis Lucille (Gloff) (Rouviere) Cain

Janis Cain died peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday March 26, 2026.

Born September 6, 1938, in Sewickley PA to the late August Gloff Sr and Mildred Eaton Gloff.

She was a Registered Nurse specializing in Psychiatry, Neuropsychiatry and Private Duty.

Janis was a longtime member of Hebron Presbyterian Church where she was an ordained Elder, Pianist and Choir member. She was on the board of the directors for the Hebron Hopewell Cemetery and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by: 4 daughters – Terri (Rich) Gazda, Cyndy Smith, Sherrie Sweeney and Michelle (Randy) Wilson, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and brother August (Donna) Gloff Jr.
Janis was preceded in death by her husband Harold Cain, parents, and grandson Garrett Morrow. Continue reading

Charles R. Call – Shippingport

Charles R. Call, 87 of Shippingport passed Thursday morning, March 12, 2026 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. Born June 12, 1938 in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was the last surviving child born to the late Jackson D. & Betty (Barnes) Call. Charles was retired from the Bruce Mansfield Plant, where he had worked as a foreman and maintenance operator. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, also an avid wood worker, and he loved westerns, especially Gunsmoke. He was a member of the Shippingport VFD, where he also worked for the Boro, Pittsburgh Forgings and enjoyed detailing cars.

Dean A. Miller – Clinton (Independence Twp.)

Dean A. Miller, 93 of Clinton (Independence Twp.) passed Wednesday afternoon, March 11, 2026 at Apple Blossom, Moon twp. Born June 3, 1932 in Aliquippa, he was a son of the late James A. & Florence (Cain) Miller. He was a lifetime member of the Mt. Olivet EPC; Aliquippa and one of the proud owners and operators of Miller Brothers trucking and farm. Continue reading
