Howard Bailes – GEORGETOWN
Howard Bailes, 79, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Monday morning, March 19, 2012 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born September 19, 1932, in Rochester, he was a son of the later Luther and Marjorie (Morgan) Bailes. He was a retired steelworker for the former Teledyne (Pittsburgh Steel, Tool and Wire). He was a very active member of the Free Methodist Church primarily working with the youth. He was also a retired lay minister and enjoyed farming. He was always ready to share the Bible with anybody and everybody or to pray with them.
Elsie M. McElhaney – HOOKSTOWN
Elsie M. McElhaney, 95, of Hookstown, died Thursday morning, March 1, 2012, at Fox's Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.
Born April 2, 1916, in Aliquippa, she was the last surviving child born to the late Earl and Harriet Mae (Hayward) Moore. A homemaker, Mrs. McElhaney was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church of Hookstown, and a member of the Women's Association of her church, where she also served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. She was a 60 plus year member of the Hookstown Grange, a member of the Beaver County Pomona Grange No. 66, and the South Side Senior Citizens group.
Billi Kae Taylor – CLINTON
Billi Kae Taylor, Clinton (Independence Twp.), her infant daughter, Jocelyn Laurance Taylor
Billi Kae Taylor, 35, of Clinton, died tragically Friday, February 17, 2012 from injuries sustained in a car accident early that morning, along with her unborn daughter, Jocelyn.
Ruth V. Bennett – HOOKSTOWN
Ruth V. Bennett, 79, of Hookstown, died Saturday morning, February 11, 2012 at Heritage Valley Beaver.
Born January 1, 1933, in Hookstown, she was a daughter of the late Avery Graham and Olive May (Reed) Dawson. A homemaker, Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Bible Missionary Church of Aliquippa.
Leona C. Halstead – HOOKSTOWN
Leona C. Halstead, 89, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Tuesday morning, January 24, 2012, in Fox's Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.
Born August 8, 1922, in Beverly, OH, she was the last surviving child born to the late Homer and Sylvia (Berry) Campbell. A homemaker, Leona enjoyed knitting, crocheting and playing pool.
Patricia M. Berger – GEORGETOWN
Patricia M. Berger, 76, of Georgetown (Greene Twp), died Thursday afternoon, January 19, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.
Born May 12, 1935 in Steubenville, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ford and Maebelle (Hanlin) Ralston. In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Berger was the owner and operator, along with her husband, Myrle, of the Melody Lane Skating Rink of Georgetown.
Frank R. Barr – SHIPPINGPORT
Frank R. Barr, 68, of Shipping-port, died Saturday morning, Jan. 7, 2012, in the comfort of his home with family by his side.
Born July 26, 1943, in Ambridge, he was the last surviving child born to the late Elizabeth Russell. Mr. Barr had worked as a set up man at the Phoenix Glass Company, in Monaca, and later moved into a management position there.
Mary E. McCoy – ALIQUIPPA
Mary E. McCoy, 79, of Aliquippa (Hanover Twp) died Wednesday afternoon, January 18, 2012, at Heritage Valley Sewickley surrounded by her family.
Born November 29, 1932, in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Devitt) Inglefield. She was the beloved wife of 60 years to R. John McCoy, Sr., whom she wed June 22, 1951. She was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church.
