Robert Eugene Bender, 90 of Hookstown (formerly of Confluence) passed Friday morning, September 18, 2026 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born August 4, 1936 in Listenburg, Pa., he was the last surviving son of the late Carl & Ruth (Foy) Bender. Robert was a veteran of the US Army and had worked as a truck driver for the Keystone Lime Stone Co. for over 42 years. Helen D. Stewart, 92 of Chester, West Virginia passed Tuesday morning, September 1, 2026 in the comfort of her home with family at her side. Born October 15, 1933 in Newell, WV, she was the last surviving child born to the late George Fern and Mary Jane (Flowers) Hart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bernard W, Stewart, her son, Lanny Stewart, and her siblings, Gladys (Hart) Calhoun, William Hart and Barbara (Hart) Stewart. Continue reading →
