Sarah Lombard – Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro)

Sarah Lombard of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro) passed peacefully on Saturday morning, August 9, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born July 3, 1929 in Hookstown, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Marguerite (Ewing) Lombard.

Sarah lived for over 50 years in Long Beach, California where she worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the Veterans Hospital. She also worked for many years providing private home care following her retirement.  She moved back to her hometown in her later years to live with her two sisters, Anna and Jane, this also happened to be next door to her great nephew, Samuel Ash, who was more of a grandson to all of them. Sarah had a strong love of animals and had quite a few special dogs and cats in later years that brought her much joy.  She was gracious in charitable donations to many organizations she felt strongly about, from the Indian reservations, Autism speaks, and the Humane society to name only a few.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Anna “Sis” Lombard, Marguerite Majors, and Jane Lombard and her brothers Thomas “Tut” Lombard, Jack Lombard, Eugene “Doc” Lombard Jr. and Jim Lombard. Also, a nephew, Charles Richard (Dick) Lombard.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Nancy Lombard, and by her nieces and nephews, Thomas (Connie) Lombard, John (Sandy) Lombard, James (Penny) Lombard, Bonnie Jenkins Freel , John Rex (Tami Reed) Lombard, Lori Lombard, Linda (Jeff) Ash, Thomas (Rose) Majors, Nancy Azzara, Sarah Ann (Tony) Key, and Jack( Jeanie) Lombard. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 2462 State Route 18, Clinton, PA 15026, on Saturday August 23, 2025, at 11 am with pastor Rev. Jefferson Ellis, and Thomas Lombard officiating.

Burial will be private in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Beaver County Humane Society or a charitable foundation of your choice.
