Stanley Zdybicki – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)
Stanley Zdybicki, 89, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Thursday morning, March 28, 2013.
Born July 19, 1923, in Eldersville, PA, a son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Drazick) Zdybicki, he was employed at Weirton Steel working as a foreman. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Burgettstown and was a veteran of World War II having served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
Neal Adam McDonald – SARASOTA, FL (FORMERLY OF OAKDALE)
Neal Adam McDonald, 41 of Sarasota, FL. formerly of 0akdale died unexpectedly on Wednesday morning March 13, 2013. He was the son of the late Richard. J. and Emily Ann (Palumbo) McDonald. Dear brother of Richard J. McDonald, Joseph N. and David M. Grandstaff and Celeste Bolea.
His cremains will be laid to rest beside his late mother in the St. Joseph Cemetery Coraopolis, PA. with interment services. Arrangements by the McC0nnell Funeral Home 447 Pine St. Hookstown, PA. 15050.
Darlene Marie Fadeley – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)
Darlene Marie Fadeley, 62, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Saturday evening, March 2, 2013, at Heritage Valley Beaver, surrounded by her family.
Born Aug. 30, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved daughter of Harriet (Steele) Mercuri of Munhall and the late Joseph Mercuri Sr. Catholic by faith, Darlene loved children, especially babies as they loved her.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Mercuri Jr.
Norman H. Woodling – Hookstown (Greene Township)
Norman H. Wood-ling, 93, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Wednesday evening, February 20, 2013, at Friendship Ridge, Brighton Twp., with family at his side.
Born September 3, 1919, in Sewickley, a son of the late Robert Harold and Catherine Margaret (Emmert) Woodling, he was a veteran of the U.S. Merchant Marines having served during World War II. He started his working career at Western Auto Company in Westfield, NY, and moved back to Pennsylvania to be with his and his wife’s family, starting a career at Crucible Steel in Midland, from which he retired after 32 years of service on July 30, 1980. He was a longtime and very active member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church, having formerly served there as an elder and deacon. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Boy Scouts of America. He was avid bird watcher, fisherman, gardener and hunter and had volunteered his time giving tours at the Raccoon Wildflower Reserve Center. He was a very loving and kind gentleman.
Ronald W. Highberger – Monaca (Raccoon Twp.)
Ronald W. Highberger, 66, of Monaca, (Raccoon Township), died unexpectedly Sunday, February 17, 2013, at his Raccoon Twp. residence.
Born January 28, 1947, in Sewickley, he was a son of the late James William and Avis Louise (Cook) Highberger. Ron worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry. He was the owner and operator of Ron’s Shop in Raccoon Twp. and had worked Nick Crivelli Ford, formerly Beglin Ford, in Bridgewater for 14 years. He was a 30-year member of the Pontiac Oakland Club International and was an avid antique and classic car collector.
Virginia (Channing) Warnock – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TOWNSHIP)
Virginia (Channing) Warnock, 74, of Hookstown (Greene Township), went to be with Jesus on Thursday morning, Feb. 14, 2013. She died peacefully in her home after an extended illness.
Born July 26, 1938, in Weirton, WV, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Mildred (Allen) Channing. Ginny was a registered nurse, having worked at the Jameson Memorial Hospital in New Castle, East Liverpool City Hospital, and most recently the Gateway Rehab Center. She was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church.
Catherine E. Hineman – FORMERLY OF INDEPENCE TOWNSHIP
Catherine E. Hineman, 97, formerly of Independence Township died Monday morning, February 4, 2013, at Friendship Ridge.
Born in Pittsburgh on Jan. 21, 1916, she was the last surviving child born to the late Paul and Florence (Wilson) Rowe. Mrs. Hineman was a homemaker and a member of the Service Creek Presbyterian Church.
Harry G. Fleming – HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP
Harry G. Fleming, 87, of Hopewell Township, passed peacefully through heaven's gates Wednesday morning, January 30, 2013, in the comfort of his home with family at his side. He was born Sept. 28, 1925, in Indiana, Pa., a son of the late Dwight A. and Vernie (Smith) Fleming.
Jack H. Potts – HONEYBROOK, PA (FORMERLY OF HOOKSTOWN)
Jack H. Potts, 80, of Honeybrook, PA, formerly of Hookstown, died Saturday afternoon, January 12, 2013, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon, Pa., after a brief illness.
Born February 5, 1932, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Howard C. and Wilda E. (Boyd) Potts. Jack was a retired heavy equipment operator having worked for Dravo Corp. and Georgetown Sand and Gravel. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #66, a founding and lifetime member of the Hookstown VFD and also a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. He had attended the Hookstown one room school.
Delores A. (Currie) Simmons – BEAVER
Delores A. (Currie) Simmons, 77, of Beaver, died Sunday morning, Jan. 6, 2013, in the Good Samaritan Hospice House, Wexford.
Born Nov. 1, 1935 in Duluth, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda (Jylkka) Efram. Delores was retired from the Batchelor Furniture Co. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Freedom and the Century Club of Beaver.
