Howard Trimble – GEORGETOWN
Howard R. Trimble, 87, a lifelong resident of Georgetown, died Thursday morning, August 15, 2013, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.
Born July 30, 1926, in Georgetown, he was the last surviving son born to the late Emmit and Esther (Mackall) Trimble. Mr. Trimble had worked as a pipe fitter at Crucible Steel, retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a sergeant during World War II. He was a member and past commander of the Hookstown American Legion and had been a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church, Georgetown. He enjoyed being outside, cutting grass and golfing.
Murray D. Hughes – MONACA (RACCOON TWP.)
Murray D. Hughes, 95, of Monaca (Raccoon Twp.), died Monday evening, August 5, 2013, at Heritage Valley Beaver, with his granddaughters present.
Born April 6, 1918, in Clinton, a son of the late Harry D. and Sarah (Morrow) Hughes, he was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II having served as a gunner's mate third class.
Jason Heinlein – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TOWNSHIP)
Jason Heinlein, 25, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died unexpectedly Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his Hookstown residence.
Born February 19, 1988, in Sewickley, he is the beloved son of Kenneth and Terri (Wolanski) Heinlein of Georgetown; husband of Hillary (Morgan) Heinlein and dear brother of Kyle and his wife Danielle Heinlein of Burgettstown, and Amanda and her husband Michael John Heinlein of Hookstown. His paternal grandparents are Ralph and June Heinlein of Aliquippa and his maternal grandparents are Wanda Wolanski of Hookstown and the late Stephen Wolanski.
Samuel Ramsey – GEORGETOWN
Samuel Ramsey of Georgetown, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 12, 2013.
He was born Aug. 27, 1957, in East Liverpool, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie (Morris) Ramsey, whom he married Oct. 9, 1981, in Winchester, VA; two daughters, Jennifer Ramsey, Ambridge, PA and Colleen Ramsey, residing at home; a granddaughter, Ava Ramsey-Simmons, Ambridge, PA; his mother, Eva Ramsey, Georgetown, PA and two brothers, Joseph (Sarah) Ramsey, Beaver, and William (Patty) Ramsey, Industry.
Edward J. Winters Jr. – GEORGETOWN (GREENE TWP.)
Edward J. Winters Jr., 84, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), passed away at the Kindred Hospital at Heritage Valley Beaver, on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013, after a brief illness.
Born July 17, 1928, in McDonald, he was the son of the late Edward and Clara (Langhurst) Winters. Edward graduated from Chester High School in 1946 and served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. After retiring from the FAA where he worked as an electronics technician, Edward spent his retirement years on his farm in Greene Twp. He was a former member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church of Hookstown. Edward’s hobbies included working with farm machinery, playing the accordion, and taking care of his dogs. He was also a former member of the Studebaker Drivers Club Inc.
Karen Ann (Toogood) Miles – CARNEGIE
Karen Ann (Toogood) Miles, 63, of Carnegie, died peacefully Monday evening, May 6, 2013, in the Ohio Valley General Hospital, with her family at her side.
Born February 17, 1950, in Pittsburgh, she was the beloved daughter of Paul Bennett of Nevada and the late Catherine "Kay" (Braun) Bennett. Karen was a medical transcriptionist working in the healthcare field and was an avid animal lover.
James Dwight Parker – RACCOON TOWNSHIP
James Dwight Parker, 65, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Township), died Monday evening, April 22, 2013, in the comfort of his home, with his wife at his side.
Born April 21, 1948, in Shawnee, OK, a son of the late Ira William and Ruby Mae (Stultz) Parker, he worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry throughout his life and just loved working on cars. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War.
Wayne R. Hampe – MIDLAND
Wayne R. Hampe, 64, of Midland, died Saturday morning, April 13, 2013, at his Midland residence.
Born June 4, 1948, in Meyersdale, Pa, he was a son of the late Ralph E. Sr. and Fannie Mae “Harding” Hampe.
Surviving are his two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph E. Hampe Jr., and William and Mary Hampe.

Hazel L. Torrence – HOOKSTOWN
Hazel L. Torrence, 87, of Hookstown, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, April 10, 2013, in Fox’s Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.
Born June 6, 1925, in New Cumberland, WV, she was a daughter of the late Ellwood and Gertrude Michaels Stewart. A homemaker, Hazel was a member of the Mill Creek Presbyterian Church and was retired from the South Side Area School District, where she worked as a custodian for 16 years.
Edison T. Chaffin Sr. – FORMERLY OF HOOKSTOWN
Edison T. Chaffin Sr., 95, of Fox’s Assisted Living, Chester, WV, since February of 2009, formerly of Hookstown since 1954, died Monday afternoon, April 8, 2013, in the East Liverpool City Hospital.
Born February 5, 1918, in Christmas, KY, he was the last surviving child born to the late Fred and Alma (Burchett) Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin was a member of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and receiving many awards for his service. A member of the Hookstown American Legion, he retired in 1975 from U.S. Steel. He had played guitar and sang since he was a teenager in Kentucky and enjoyed entertaining family and friends at Fox’s Assisted Living in Chester, WV.
