Ruth Virginia (Doudna) Hall, 95, a long time resident of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord from the comfort of her home surrounded by family on Friday morning, July 4, 2014. She had lived with her daughter, Joy, for the last eight years of her life. 

Born September 13, 1918, in Barnesville, Ohio, she was the last of six children born to the late Dillwyn and Edith (Carter) Doudna.  A homemaker, Mrs. Hall was a member of the Imperial Church of the Nazarene where her late husband, the Rev. Margaret M. Scheboth, 54, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died unexpectedly Saturday, June 28, 2014, while in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born May 17, 1960, in Pittsburgh, she one of three daughters born to the late John and Norma Fae (Alexander) Tellman. Margaret had worked as a hospice care assistant, most recently at McGuire Home and AVS. She attended Catholic churches and most of her time was spent helping people. Continue reading →

Frances E. Walker, 94, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Thursday evening, June 12, 2014, with family at her side at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born July 1, 1919, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late George and Harriet (Hallwood) Stone. A homemaker, Mrs. Walker was a member of the New Cumberland (WV) Church of the Nazarene.

Born January 28, 1946, she was a daughter of the late William Q. and Sarah (McElhaney) Marshall. A homemaker, she was a 1965 graduate of Strong Vincent High School, Erie. She was a member of the Church of Christ of Georgetown; TOPS Group, Shippingport; Red Had Ladies Society, and My Quilt Group of Enon Valley. Marcia Jo Peters, 56, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died Sunday morning, April 27, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with ovarian cancer, in the comfort of her home, with her family at her side.

Born November 16, 1957, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Warner Edwards and Nellie Pauline (Lauferty) Bates. She was the owner and operator of Art Design Gifts. She was a member of the Tri State Lanes Bowling League of East Liverpool, and was a member and founder of the Pittsburgh Moms Club “an internet social club for social get-togethers.” She received her bachelor’s degree in business from Robert Morris University. Most special to her were her children, Ethan and Tonia, family and friends, and spending summers at Indian Creek Resort and Geneva on the Lake. Continue reading →

Janice Bell (Rogers) Kiss,  83, of Weirton, WV, formerly of Shippingport, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at The Carriage Inn of Steubenville with her family at her side.

Born Jan. 22, 1931 in Midland, she was the daughter of the late Velma Knowles Rogers and Walter Lee Rogers.

She was married Dec. 24, 1948, to Richard A. Kiss, who preceded her in death on Sept. 1, 2000. She also was preceded in death by an infant son, Andrew Wayne Kiss; three brothers, William, Floyd and Walter Rogers and five sisters, Agnes Rogers Jones, Velma Rogers Clayton, Catherine Rogers Burgess, Gladys Rogers Littell and Constance Rogers Allison Bruce. Elmer Edward “Ed-Rain Man” Enigson, 60, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Thursday morning, March 11, 2014, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Born June 3, 1953, in Rochester, he was the beloved son of the late Louis and Marlene (Campbell) Calvin, and Elmer Enigson of Center Twp. and his late wife, Polly Enigson. He had worked as a cement truck driver/mixer for Golden Triangle of Imperial and was a member of the Teamsters Local 341. He was an avid biker and patron of Uncle Chuck’s in Rochester, and was a member of the Beaver County A.B.A.T.E and the Center Twp. VFW.  Continue reading →
