John C. Ross, 74, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2014, with family at his side, in the Fox’s Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.
Born in Hookstown on Nov. 29, 1939, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Mary E. (Torrence) Ross. A retired truck driver, he was Presbyterian by faith, and was a 1959 graduate of South Side High School. Marie Boyd, 99, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2014, at Friendship Ridge, Brighton Twp.
Born November 5, 1914, in Hookstown, she was the last surviving child born to the late John and Ethel (Nichol) Glenn. A homemaker, she was an avid farmer milking cows until she was 83 years old and loved gardening and mowing her grass until she was 97 years old. Ruth Virginia (Doudna) Hall, 95, a long time resident of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord from the comfort of her home surrounded by family on Friday morning, July 4, 2014. She had lived with her daughter, Joy, for the last eight years of her life.
Born September 13, 1918, in Barnesville, Ohio, she was the last of six children born to the late Dillwyn and Edith (Carter) Doudna. A homemaker, Mrs. Hall was a member of the Imperial Church of the Nazarene where her late husband, the Rev. Herbert W. Hall, was the pastor for 24 years. Margaret M. Scheboth, 54, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died unexpectedly Saturday, June 28, 2014, while in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born May 17, 1960, in Pittsburgh, she one of three daughters born to the late John and Norma Fae (Alexander) Tellman. Margaret had worked as a hospice care assistant, most recently at McGuire Home and AVS. She attended Catholic churches and most of her time was spent helping people. Continue reading

Frances E. Walker, 94, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Thursday evening, June 12, 2014, with family at her side at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
Born July 1, 1919, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late George and Harriet (Hallwood) Stone. A homemaker, Mrs. Walker was a member of the New Cumberland (WV) Church of the Nazarene.
