Lawrence C. Phillis – FORMERLY OF ALIQUIPPA
Lawrence C. Phillis, 86, formerly of Aliquippa, died Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014, at Friendship Ridge.
Born Feb. 27, 1928, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Carlise S. and Pearl (Moore) Phillis, he worked as a customer service representative for Peoples Gas in Aliquippa for over 40 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict.
Lynne E. Rattigan – Georgetown (Greene Township)
Lynne E. Rattigan, 71, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Wednesday evening, November 5, 2014, at Good Samaritan, Beaver.
Born April 18, 1943, in Rochester, she was the beloved daughter of Marian Leigh (Buckley) Shroads of Darlington and the late Paul Edward Shroads. Lynne had worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the health care industry. Most proud of her music, she played clarinet in the Louisville Wind Symphony and studied music therapy with the harp. Continue reading
Steven C. Waxler – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TOWNSHIP)
Steven C. Waxler, 57, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died peacefully Wednesday morning November 5, 2014, in the comfort of his home in the arms of his daughter.
Born April 17, 1957 in Rochester, he was the beloved son of Frank C. Waxler of Hookstown and the late Arlene (Barton) Waxler who died Dec. 3, 1996. He had worked as a lead dock hand for the former Bax Global Co. of Moon Twp. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing with his best friend, Joseph Tuttle and loved being with his family. Donald M. McCoy – ALIQUIPPA (GREENE TWP.)
Donald M. McCoy, 85, of Aliquippa (Greene Twp.), died Saturday evening, October 11, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, with his family at his side.
Born November 30, 1928, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Mont R. and Anna M. (Shay) McCoy. Mr. McCoy was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and trustee, and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He retired from LTV Steel, where he had worked as a machinist, and he had also worked at Spectrim Machine Co., Vanport. Continue reading

Muriel M. Phillips, 94, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2014, with her family at her side on her birthday at Rochester Manor and Villa.
Born in McAdam, Canada, on Oct. 4, 1920, she was a daughter of the late George Washington and Hazel (Gallison) Grass. A homemaker, Mrs. Phillips attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church. Continue reading

John C. Ross, 74, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 9, 2014, with family at his side, in the Fox’s Stone Pear Pavilion, Chester, WV.
Born in Hookstown on Nov. 29, 1939, he was a son of the late Charles R. and Mary E. (Torrence) Ross. A retired truck driver, he was Presbyterian by faith, and was a 1959 graduate of South Side High School. An avid horseman, he participated in horse pulls, plowing events, weddings and parades with Belgian horses. Continue reading

Helen M. Tingler, 84, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Audrey C. Segebrecht, 99, of Freedom (New Sewickley Twp.), died peacefully Monday afternoon, August 11, 2014, at Friendship Ridge, Brighton Twp.
Born April 18, 1915, in Rochester, she was the last surviving child born to the late Gust and Wilda (Filbert) Anderson. She retired from the clerical department of Westinghouse, Vanport, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Monaca. Continue reading

Marie Boyd, 99, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon, July 30, 2014, at Friendship Ridge, Brighton Twp.
Born November 5, 1914, in Hookstown, she was the last surviving child born to the late John and Ethel (Nichol) Glenn. A homemaker, she was an avid farmer milking cows until she was 83 years old and loved gardening and mowing her grass until she was 97 years old. She loved baking her sugar cookies for Halloween treats and enjoyed her great-grandchildren. Continue reading

William J. Way, 22, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), died accidentally Wednesday evening, July 23, 2014.
Born January 20, 1992, in Weirton, WV, he was the beloved son of Rebecca (Uranker) and her husband Rodney Schultz, and the late William R. Way. He had worked as a handyman in the maintenance profession and enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool and the art of tattoos. Continue reading
