Harold R. “Butch” Heizler Jr., 80, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Thursday morning, June 18, 2015, while in the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

Sarah L. Reddinger, 91, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully in the comfort of her home with family at her side on Wednesday morning, June 17, 2015.

A lifelong resident of Hookstown, she was born there on October 14, 1923, the last surviving child born to the late Fred and Pauline (McClurg) Martin. Mrs. Reddinger had worked as a clerk with Kmart in Washington and Weirton. She was an avid seamstress who enjoyed sewing and had made numerous quilts in her time. Continue reading →

Charles J. Jungfleisch, 73, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died Friday morning, June 12, 2015, with his family at his side while in the care at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Martha M. Mayhue, 88, Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Monday evening, June 8, 2015, in the emergency room of Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born April 9, 1927, in McGuffey, Ohio, the last surviving child born to the late Freed and Ora (Hackworth) Ziegler.  A homemaker, she was an avid baker, creating many wedding cakes in her time, enjoyed quilting, sewing and raising greyhounds. Continue reading →

Born May 16, 1954, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late William and Anna (Krizan) Cooper, he was a heavy equipment operator for Alex E. John Walter Weber, 76, of Clinton (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly of natural causes on Friday evening, May 29, 2015, around 9:50 p.m. in his home on Weber Road.

Gale G. Pence, 79, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Township), died Thursday afternoon, May 28, 2015, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, with his family at his side.

Born Dec. 22, 1935, in Rochester he was a son of the late William E. and Ethel (Weber) Pence. He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served two tours in Vietnam which he loved sharing stories about, enjoyed Bluegrass music, fishing, garage sales, recycling, mowing grass and attending Mt. Rudolph “Rudy” Livada Jr., 81, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 18, 2015, at his Hookstown residence.

Born in Hookstown on May 12, 1934, he was a son of the late Rudolph Sr. and Katherine (Kolorich) Livada. He had worked for 21 years with the Tellish Construction Company of Hookstown and was a member of the United Steelworkers organization, previously working for LTV Steel, Aliquippa Works. Jack A. Robison, 86, of Monaca (Center Twp.), died Thursday evening May 14, 2015 at Beaver Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Born May 10, 1929, in Aliquippa, he was the last surviving child born to the late William and Elizabeth (Campbell) Robison. Mr. Robison was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Westinghouse, Vanport, after 40 years of service where he worked as a store room attendant. Continue reading →
