William F. “Bill” Coon – Clinton (Independence Twp.)

William F. “Bill” Coon, 90 of Clinton (Independence Twp.) passed Monday morning February 24, 2025 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born December 29, 1934 in Carlisle, PA. He was a son of the late Frank and Ruby (Bair) Coon. Bill was a member of the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown and a retired heavy equipment operator and supervisor with Operating Engineers Local #66 of Pittsburgh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law Darrell Musser and 2 sisters, Margaret Smalley and Faye Coon.He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Janice (Miller) Coon, his daughters and their spouses Denise and Kevin Lander, Theresa Musser, Debra and James Rimmer, brother of Dick and his wife Karen Coon. Grandfather of 8, Cody Musser, Chelsey & Luke Showers, Jordan & Mandy Rimmer, BreeAnn & John Anderson, Gideon Rimmer, Dustin & Shayla Lander, Kori Lander and Dalton Lander. Great grandfather of 10 Cora, Crew, Jayden, Morgan, Colvin, Eden, Zeke, Grace, Easton and Enzlo.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050 on Wednesday, February 26th, from 1 pm until the time of his service at 3 pm. His grandson, Rev. Dr. Jordan Rimmer will officiate. Private interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
