Mark A. Culley, 69 of Georgetown (Hanover twp.) passed Tuesday evening, February 6, 2024 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born December 4, 1954 in Washington, PA. he was a son of the late Bill Sr. and Loretta (Froats) Culley. Mark was a retired steel worker having worked for J&L Steel and Republic steel of Canton Ohio.

Joyce M. Potts, 89 of Hookstown passed away peacefully Friday morning, January 26, 2024 at Heritage Valley Sewickley surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Born May 16, 1934 in Chester, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Mary Elizabeth (Gladwell) Fetty. Connie L. Tate, 81 of Dearborn Michigan (formerly of Hookstown) passed Saturday morning, January 20, 2024 at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation Center in Allen Park. Born July 11, 1942 in Rochester, PA., she was a daughter of the late Almon and Gertrude (Embrey) Hollister. Connie had worked as a caregiver in the health care industry. David J. Zakutney, 61 of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro) passed Monday, January 1, 2024 at UPMC-Montefiore with his wife, sons and daughter-in-law at his side. Born August 27, 1962 in Philipsburg, PA. He was a son of Ruth (Heverly) Zakutney and the late Ralph Zakutney. Dave had worked as a machinist with Flowserve of Bridgeville. He loved riding his Harley and dirt bikes, basically anything with wheels and a motor. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and listening to music and going on cruises, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren, wife and sons. Continue reading →

Lynn B. Hall, 74 of Hookstown (Greene Twp) died peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2023 in the comfort of his home. Born March 10, 1949 in Weirton, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Clyde Vincent and Evelyn Marie (Call) Hall.

A graduate of South Side High School, class of 1967, Lynn was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving as a SP4 in the US Army. He was a retired pipefitter with Weirton Steel and after retiring from there, he spent 27 years working at Falconi Automotive in Moon Twp. Pindilli, 72 of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro) passed peacefully Sunday morning, December 24, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous hardfought battle. Born June 22, 1951 in Weirton, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Kathryn Juanita (Hall) Patton.

A graduate of South Side High School class of 1969, Diane had worked as a licensed practical nurse in the health care industry. She served as secretary for the South Side Little Rams, enjoyed card clubs with friends that met weekly and was a member of both the Rochester and Slovan VFD ladies auxiliary. Continue reading →

Keith G. McElhaney, 65 of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.) passed Saturday, December 16, 2023 in the Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh. Born February 5, 1958 in Rochester, he was the son of the late George D. and Florence B. (Iams) McElhaney. Keith had worked as a Grocery Manager at the Giant Eagle in Aliquippa and enjoyed spending time at the Rusty Nail hunting camp.

He is survived by his daughter Tiffani McElhaney, a sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Ted Kramer, a grandson Everett Englert, nephews Ian (Danielle) Kramer and Jared (Jackie) Kramer. Continue reading →

Robert Lynn Buckley, 99 of New Cumberland, West Virginia passed Thursday morning, November 23, 2023 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born March 3, 1924 in Beaver, he was the last surviving child born to the late Charles E. and Belle (Lynn) Buckley. Buckley was a retired steel worker having worked at J&L Aliquippa works in the 30-inch round mill serving as assistant superintendent. He was also a member of the Freedom Masonic Lodge #328. Also, an 80-year member of the Hookstown Grange and a 38-year member of the Hookstown Fair Board.

Louis V. George II, 82 of Aliquippa (Hopewell Twp.) passed Sunday evening, November 19, 2023 at the Allegheny General Hospital; Pittsburgh. Born July 10, 1941 in Sugar Creek, Pa. He was a son of the late Louis V. George I and Thelma Geneva (Owens) George. Louis was a United States Navy Corpsman Retired, a graduate of Quaker Valley High School, class of 1961, his biggest joy was spending time with his family, reading his bible and building lego models.

Kami Lynn Brooks, 60 of East Liverpool passed Thursday afternoon November 16,2023 at East Liverpool City Hospital. Born September 9, 1963 in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Shirley Ann (Brown) Brooks.

Kami had worked in Technology Security in the Banking industry. She is survived by a brother Christopher Brooks and her sisters Susan Vistein and Jennifer Brown. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
