Robert G. Maier – Georgetown

Robert G. Maier, 80 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) passed peacefully Friday morning, April 12, 2024 in the comfort of his home with family at his side. Born June 18, 1943 in Pittsburgh. He was the son of the late George J. and Mary Elizabeth (O’Keefe) Maier. Bob had worked as a salesman in a variety of businesses, also a member of St. Blaise Catholic Church of Midland, the N.R.A. and the Mt. Nebo Grange in Sewickley and was a veteran serving in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Margaret A. “Penny” Maier, whom he missed terribly and two sisters, June Marie McCauley and Mariam Maier.

Surviving are his daughters; Lauralee and Pete Blattner, Angela and Jim Heist, and Sandy Frederick; his grandchildren PJ (Samantha) Blattner and their children Jack and Riley, Rosemary (James) Colvin and their children Leona and Linus, Sara Heist, Jacob (Amber) Heist, Samuel Heist, Anna Heist and her son Elijah, Abigail, Joel, Malachi and Ben Heist. Also surviving are many other children that knew him as grandpa.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St. Hookstown, Pa. 15050 on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where prayers will be offered Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a mass of Christian burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Blaise Worship Site, 772 Ohio Ave., Midland, PA. 15059, St. Augustine Parish. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery; Georgetown.
