Mary Ann Burris – Shippingport
Mary Ann Burris, 74 of Shippingport passed away peacefully Friday morning, September 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 13, 1951 in Martinsferry, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Harold & Mary (Gallagher) Long.
Mary Ann was the heart of her family, known for her opinionated, spunky attitude. A devoted mother of her two children, her greatest joy came from caring for her family. Her famous Sunday dinners were a weekly tradition that brought family together. Mary Ann’s homemade noodles and taco dip are legendary, and she delighted in everyone eating seconds and thirds. Beyond her role as a mother, Mary Ann was a waitress at Kings restaurant in Monaca, where she spent 31 years serving with pride the patrons of Beaver County.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Burris in 2008, and brother Bob Long.
Surviving are her children, Rhonda & her husband Todd Searight and Todd & his wife Michelle Burris. A proud grandmother of 6, Megan Searight, Wade Searight, Cole Searight, Shelby Hunter, Kyler Burris and Landon Burris. Great grandmother of 4, Brinley and Blaine Hall, and Mia and Jo Searight. Sister of Carol Waxler, Joe Long and Charles Long.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa. 15050 on Thursday, September 11th from 6-8 pm ONLY, where her service will be held Friday, September 12th at 11 am. The Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery; Georgetown.
