Delores A. “Dee” Irons, 78, of Beaver (Brighton Twp.) passed unexpectedly Saturday evening, December 10, 2022, in the comfort of her home. Born May 31, 1944, in Aliquippa, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Annetta (Ferry) Schmidt. In addition to being a home maker, Delores had worked as the V.P.
of Sales for Mayer China in Beaver Falls and most recently at Gateway Rehabilitation Center, where she cooked. She was a member of the House of Prayer Evangelical Lutheran Church of Aliquippa. Delores loved baking, and especially enjoyed sweets, gardening and being in her yard in any kind of weather. She was an immaculate housekeeper who was so proud of her home. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Wayne Searight of Hookstown passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice Wexford after battling multiple cancers from the age of 22. He was 70 years old. Wayne was born to Lawrence and Mildred (Kitty) Searight in Sewickley on August 23, 1952.

Wayne worked at Scott Lumber in Weirton and Holloway Supply in Pittsburgh, but when his daughter was born, Wayne became a full-time stay-at-home dad and a part time clock maker. Until she started school, father and daughter often traveled throughout the tri-state making house calls and repairing grandfather clocks.

Wayne lived his entire life in the Hookstown area, most of it in his childhood home. He was a life-long member of the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown, serving in various positions, including elder and chairman of the Building Committee for the new sanctuary. William Harry Barrett, Sr., 81, of Hookstown, PA, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family at the VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh. He was born on March 8th, 1941, in East Liverpool, OH to the late John and Wilda Marie (Sayers) Barrett. He was a decorated military veteran that served in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, Army Rangers and in the elite Special Forces during the pre-Vietnam/early Vietnam era. Upon his discharge, he worked at J&L Steel, J&L Structural as a Maintenance Engineer and as a Structural Superintendent at some of the area’s top heavy construction companies, where he worked on many of the buildings and bridges in the greater Pittsburgh area. Dennis James Miscuk, 68, of New Castle, formerly of Hookstown, passed unexpectedly Sunday November 20, 2022 at his New Castle residence. Born May 25, 1954 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late William A. and Martha Jone (Bishoff) Miscuk Sr. Before being disabled Dennis had worked in the construction industry. Carl G. Baker, 80 of Beaver passed Tuesday morning November 1, 2022 at Heritage Valley Beaver. He was the proud son of the late Michael and Myrtle (Pitzer) Baker Jr. Carl was an Architect and attended Carnegie Tech and Penn State, thus his life long love of everything Penn State.

Carl is survived by his beloved wife Grace A. (Danylo) Baker and their son Sam G. Baker. His children, Carl, Bryce, and David Baker. Gerald Gene Seik, 85, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.) died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by the love of family, Friday evening, October 28, 2022 at the Weirton Medical Center. Born August 14, 1937 in Oakdale. He was a son of the late Howard E. and Freda (Ferrell) Seik. A graduate of the West Allegheny School district where he was on the wrestling team, where he competed in states. An avid outdoorsman, he belonged to the Raccoon twp. Sportsman’s Club. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time on his farm tending to the land and his cows.

Gerald retired after 32 years of service at Weirton Steel, working as an iron worker and rigger. He was the owner and operator of Seik Holdings, LLC. He also enjoyed race cars, motor cross, bowling and belonged to several softball teams and especially enjoyed playing euchre with his family. Continue reading →

Born September 6, 1954, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Charles and Helen (Hendricks) Andrews. Marion E. Thomas, 82, of Aliquippa (Raccoon twp.), passed Saturday morning, September 17, 2022, at Good Samaritan Beaver. Born January 23, 1940, in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Olive E. (McCullough) Wilson. In addition to being a homemaker, Marion had worked in the cafeteria with the South Side School district.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Cary M. Thomas, who died September 30, 2018 and her brothers Joe, Poke, Skeeter and Dorsey and Larry Wilson. Continue reading →
