Betty Jean Anderson – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TOWNSHIP)

Betty Jean Anderson, 82, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.) died Friday evening, February 27, 2015, unexpectedly at her residence.

Born Feb. 17, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Mary Almyra (Allison) Anderson, Betty was a graduate of Burgettstown Union High School. She was a member of the 25 Year Club of Weirton Steel retirees; a member of Life Steps of Beaver County, where she enjoyed playing games with her numerous friends, and watching TV and movies.  She was an avid animal lover with a special fondness for horses, dogs and cats. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Raymond E. Jr. and his wife Marie Anderson; brothers, James B., William A., Thomas G. and Paul R. Anderson; a sister-in-law, Ruth Anderson; sisters, Helen Anderson, Dorothy Stewart and Sally Culley, and a nephew, William W. Anderson.

Surviving are two brothers, David C. and his wife, Esther Anderson of Georgetown and Earl E. Anderson of Hookstown; a sister, Mary Almyra and her husband Donald McAbee of Follansbee, WV; sisters-in-law, Peg Anderson of Hookstown and Mary Ann Anderson of Burgettstown, also numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She will be missed greatly by her friends, Cathy McAfee, Brittany Brown Dolan who she helped raise, Sara Cain and Vernie Hendry.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Rev. Ricky Anderson officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
