Dolores M. Moore Searight, 94, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Monday evening at Curahealth/Heritage Valley Beaver. Born October 1, 1926, in East Liverpool, Ohio. She was a daughter of the late Mont and Anna (Shay) McCoy. A home maker Dolores was a member of the Service U.P. Church, the South Side Senior Citizens, South Side Historical Association and also enjoyed cooking and baking.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands William Guy Moore and David A. Searight. An infant son, three step sons Kenneth Moore, David Searight and Daniel Searight. A brother Donald McCoy, a brother in law Regis McElhaney. Her late sisters Jean and her late husband Bill Harshbarger, Grace and her late husband John Platt, Sara (Becky) and her late husband Frank Scarbro, Betty and her late husband Bob Brodmerkel, Ruth and her late husband Ed Rowe, an infant sister Beverly Joyce McCoy and a sister in law Mary McCoy. Deena K. Antel, 50 of Steubenville, Ohio died unexpectedly Monday morning January 18, 2021, at Trinity West Medical Center, Steubenville. Born February 18, 1970, in Elgin, IL., she is the daughter of Kenneth Craig and Lyndell May (Kolilis) Sumpman. A homemaker, Deena was also a veteran of the USAirforce.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband Patrick Antel, her children are Brittany Nicole Sumpman, Courtney Marie (Matt) Biernesser, Kenneth John Sumpman, Frederick Stanley Levy and Jocelyn Paige Mallinder. She is a sister of John (Karla) Sumpman, Michael (Renelyn) Sumpman, Tamara (Cary) Wineriter and Brenda (David) Beavin. Grandmother of Corbin Thomas and Coreena Joy Biernesser.

Terry had worked as a registered nurse at Friendship Ridge before retiring in 2012. After retiring, he along with his wife, delivered newspapers for Beaver County Times and he worked with his nephew Michael Milliron at Mikey’s Subs and Stuff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Martha Lee Shivler, a brother Charles Melvin Yost, a son in law Douglas Hicks Jr., and a fur baby Puddles.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years Janice L. (Hughes) Yost, whom he married on February 8, 1969. His daughters are Tonya (Scott) Gordon of Georgetown, Rhonda Yost of Monaca and Tara (Travis) Winkelman of Raccoon TWP.. Grandfather of eight, Amy, David, Daniel, Farren, Ryan, Tatum, Treyven and Tripp. Great grandfather of 3, Elliott, Scarlett and Eva. His beloved fur baby Cinnamon also survives.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA. 15050, on Tuesday from 3 pm until the time of services at 7 pm. The Rev. Timothy Shivler will officiate and cremation will follow.

Due to Covid-19, the family asks that visits be brief, masks be worn and to practice social distancing.

“Peanut” Arthur DeLee Kerfoot, 82, of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs) died peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of family on Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2021. Born June 28, 1938, in Philipsburg, Pa., he was the last surviving son born to the late William E. and Irene (Brown) Kerfoot. A graduate of Philipsburg High School class of 1956. Peanut started his career in 1956 with Allegheny Airlines, retiring from USAirways after 40 years having worked as a station agent, load planner and airline dispatcher. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, a longtime member of Five Points Hunt Club and the neighborhood ‘lawn fairy’.

With sad and heavy hearts, we the family of Michael J. McCoy announce his sudden passing on Monday morning December 28, 2020, at his New Cumberland residence at the age of 48. Mike was born July 26, 1972, in Aliquippa, a beloved son of Tim and Donna (Fryer) McCoy of New Cumberland.

Mike was working as a maintenance foreman at the Bruce Mansfield Plant Shippingport for 20 years, he attended the Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church of Aliquippa and the Westminster Presbyterian church of Chester with his wife Sunny. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. In the summer he could be found lounging in the pool, where he often hosted family and friends, cooking on the grill serving up smoked meats and deer jerky for all to enjoy. Nothing compared to the love he had for family and friends then the love they had for him. With his loving heart of gold, Mike was a loving husband, father and son. Continue reading →

Albert Raymond McDougal, 86, formerly of Hookstown died Friday evening December 18, 2020, at the Weirton Medical Center. Born April 29, 1934, in Rachael, W.V., he was a son of the late Glenn and Ethel (Barr) McDougal. Albert had worked as an electrician at St. Joe Lead; Monaca. He was involved with the South Side Athletic boosters, a charter member of the Hanover VFD and was a boy scout leader with troop #412. Mostly he enjoyed his farm and loved working with his horses and cows.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Kathleen McDougal on March 21, 1997, two brothers Harold and William McDougal and a sister Dorothy Riffle.

Donna Lee Matchett, 80 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) died Thursday evening December 17, 2020, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born October 15, 1940 in Braddock she was a daughter of the late Milo William & Maxine Edith (Shore) Smith. Along with being a homemaker, Donna had worked as a beautician for many years and was also a caregiver, helping those who couldn’t help themselves. She also attended the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown.

Robert Lee “Bob” Bailey, 75, of Aliquippa (Independence Twp.), died Saturday afternoon, December 12, 2020, at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beaver Falls.

Born March 2, 1945, in Burgettstown, he was a son of the late Odd Brooks and Pricilla Florence (Angel) Bailey. Bob had worked with the Independence Twp. Born October 1, 1949, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Dorothy M. (Crevar) Minehart. Carole had worked as a receptionist in the media industry and attended the Hookstown Free Methodist Church.

Joyce Eileen “Rube” Stewart, 68, of Georgetown, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, December 2, 2020, with her daughter at her side under the compassionate care of nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.
