Robert Eugene Stiteler (Gene) – Hookstown (Hanover Twp.)
Robert Eugene Stiteler (Gene), 85, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully Thursday evening September 23, 2021, at West Hills Health & Rehabilitation Center; Moon twp., with his wife and family at his side.
Born March 31, 1936, in Smicksburg, Pa, he was a son of the late Laurence Clair and Mary Kathryn (Swartz) Stiteler.
Gene had worked as a carpenter with J&L Steel in Aliquippa before his retirement. He was an avid bowler with the J&L League, receiving many trophies, he initiated the Band Boosters at South Side School and lobbied to get the baseball fields in Hanover Twp. An avid hunter and fisherman, he harvested a 14 point buck in his backyard in 1983, the third biggest in history at the time. He also served as constable for Frankfort Springs for over 20 years, he was an avid Oldsmobile fan, a veteran of WWII having served in the Army National Guard and held a degree in bullshitting.
Barbara Rebecca “Becky” Schmidt – Georgetown
Barbara Rebecca “Becky” Schmidt, 63, of Georgetown, passed away suddenly, September 7, 2021, at UPMC Presby, Pittsburgh surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 17, 1958, in East Liverpool, OH, daughter of Herman and Annetta Schmidt.Becky was very warm hearted to everyone she met. Raised on the family farm, she spent her time caring for her beloved cows, baling hay, and riding her Farmall Tractor. She loved cooking a big supper for her family, making sure no one went hungry. Becky’s love for her children and grandchildren was unparalleled making sure every game, meet, and practice was attended rain or shine. John D. “JD” Halulko – Georgetown
Born August 27, 1969, in Washington, Pa., he was a son of David P. Halulko of Georgetown and the late Sarah E. (Wagoner) Halulko, who died June 4, 2020. JD was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of the Sons of the American Legion and had worked as an aircraft mechanic with American Airlines for the past two years. Hazel Ailene Fisher went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Born at home, in St. Marys, West Virginia, June 25, 1935. She was the daughter of Eskie C. & Verna Margaret (Bailey) Wilson.After graduating from West Allegheny High School in 1953, Hazel married Ralph Curtis Fisher later that same year.
Hazel spent most of her life as a homemaker, she was a talented artist who enjoying sketching and occasionally painting. She loved gardening with flowers and vegetables. She loved watching the birds at her feeders. She was employed at various times as a florist in local flower shops. Continue reading

Nancy Yurcina, 72, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.) passed peacefully Friday afternoon July 9, 2021, at Good Samaritan Hospice; Beaver. Born September 21, 1948, in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Leland and Edith (Leister) Floyd, also preceding her in death was her step mother Norma Floyd. Her late brothers are Richard, Thomas, James, Bill, Jay, Timothy and Pete Floyd.Surviving are her husband John “Jack” Yurcina, her daughter Angela Short of Beaver, and her son and daughter-in-law Jamie and Brandi Yurcina of Hopewell. Donna L. Brown – Hookstown (Hanover TWP.)
Donna L. Brown, 80, of Hookstown (Hanover TWP.) passed peacefully Friday morning July 2, 2021, in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born October 20, 1940, in Replete, W.V., she was a daughter of the late Cecil J. and Vada P. (Crowe) Gibson. A domestic engineer all her life, she also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hanover VFD where she was also a volunteer firefighter and a first responder for Hanover ambulance service. She enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter, she especially enjoyed the time spent with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Bacil R. Brown on November 4, 2018, two brothers Ton and John Gibson and two sisters June McCoy and Opal Beer. Continue reading
