Judith K. Shannon – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)

Judith K. Shannon, 84 of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) passed Sunday morning, January 26, 2025 at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chippewa with family at her side. Born January 14, 1941 in Brothersvalley twp., she was a daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Weimer) Hewitt.

Along with being a homemaker, she drove bus for the Southside School District for over 25 years. She enjoyed her time working as a bus driver and was a woman devoted to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Shannon, a brother Gary Hewitt, and a sister and brother-in-law Carole and Bill Reckner.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Richard A. and Michelle Shannon, Robert Shannon, Daniel O. and Elizebeth Shannon and Laurie Shannon. Her sisters and brothers-in-law are Paula and Ed Jackson and Linda and Tom Moore. A special sister-in-law Debbie Watson and 3 grandchildren, Polina, Owen and Ty Shannon.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA. 15050 on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from Noon until the time of her service at 4 pm. Rev. Rick Anderson of the Tri State Community Church; Chester, W.V. will officiate. Cremation will take place with burial to follow in the John Anderson Memorial Cemetery. In accordance with Judy’s love of animals, memorials in her name can be made to your local animal shelter.

Judy’s family would like to extend a BIG thank you to the staff and care givers at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Chippewa for the all the love and care shown to their mother and to them as well during her stay there.
