Earl A. “Sonny” Irons – Beaver
Earl A. “Sonny” Irons, 80, of Beaver went home to his Lord and Savior on August 2, 2024, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his beloved daughters.
Earl was born on August 18, 1943, the oldest child of William and Ida (Solkovy) Irons. He graduated from South Side High School in 1961. He was a member of Local 1211 and retired from J&L Steel in 1985. He then started an electrical contracting business which he operated for many years. Earl was an avid hunter and sportsman and was a member of Five Points Hunting Club. He also supported the Beaver County Sportsmen’s Conservation League and enjoyed volunteering with the youth summer camp. Earl was a lifelong member of House of Prayer Church. He enjoyed studying family history and the history of Beaver County.
Earl was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Delores (Schmidt) Irons. Together they raised two daughters: Kimberly (Darrell) Jones, and Tracy (Richard) Dieterle. He is additionally survived by four grandchildren: Ryan (Lisa) Jones, Collin Jones, Courtney (Tim) Lesczynski, and Jarrett Dieterle, and his great granddaughter, Charlotte Lesczynski. He leaves behind two siblings: Gerald (Carol) Irons and Marilyn (late John) Allison, several sisters- and brothers-in-law and several nephews and nieces.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa. 15050 on Wednesday, August 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. His service will be held Thursday, August 8th at 11 am in the House of Prayer Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2100 Irwin St., Aliquippa, Pa. 15001. Pastor Michael Sourwine celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Beaver County sportsmen’s Conservation League.
