Delano R. Johnson – Georgetown
Delano R. Johnson, 81, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.) died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 25, 2018, at Windsor House at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center, Columbiana, Ohio, with his wife and daughters at his side.
Born October 4, 1936, in Shippingport, a son of the late Thomas Frank and Catherine (Densick) Johnson, he worked as an operating engineer with Union Local 66 in the construction industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea, and was a member of the Weirton Church of the Nazarene, Weirton, W.Va.
Beloved husband of Carol R. (Shingleton) Johnson; beloved father of Lisa E. and Jeffrey Jaworowski, Georgetown. and Laura J. and her husband Richard Chambers, Volo, Ill.; brother of Kathy and her husband Terry Shannon, Hopewell, and Barbara Jean Cable, Monaca; brother-in-law of Dave Hardy, Georgetown and Don Hundley, Monaca; and beloved grandfather of seven, Sloane and Elyse Santillan, Jay Jaworowski, Cody, Kate, Cameron Chambers and the late Kyle Chambers.
Preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Sue Johnson, Paul Johnson, Bill and Tess Johnson and Charlie Johnson, and his sisters, Martha and John Allison, Roseanne Hardy and Mary Ellen Hundley.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Larry Barkley and the Rev. Brian Richardson of the Weirton Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
