Arthur William Beckert – Hookstown (Greene Twp.)
Arthur William Beckert, 69, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died unexpectedly, Sunday morning, November 14, 2021, at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born August 7, 1952, in Rochester, he was a beloved son of Arthur Ward Beckert of Rochester and the late Genevieve Sylvia (Verrico) Beckert, who passed on November 23, 2017. A graduate of Rochester High School class of 1970. He was trained at St. Joe Lead as an electrician, where he worked until St. Joe closed. Then he worked for Duquesne light and then First Energy at the Beaver Valley Power Station. Where he was licensed as a control room operator, then as an operations and simulator instructor in the training center. He retired in 2010.
He was a member of the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown, where he sang in the choir and was on the praise team, a 7th degree Grange member of the Hookstown Grange and enjoyed his hobby of wood working.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother Gary Beckert. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rebecca A. (Elliott) Beckert, whom he married June 13, 1980. His sons Aaron W. Beckert of East Liverpool, and Joshua and Caitlin Beckert of Warren, OH., a brother Louis (Tanes) Beckert of CA., two sisters Cheryl (Jonathan) Gaunt of New Sewickley Twp., and Anna Finnegan of Erie.
Grandfather of three Aarhett, Audrey and Addison Beckert. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Additional visitation will be held Friday, from 10 am until his service at 11 am in the Mill Creek EPC of Hookstown, 5005 RTE# 151, Hookstown, PA. 15050, his pastor Rev. Harper Brady will officiate. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
