Dolores May Conkle – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)
Dolores May Conkle, 87, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), passed peacefully Friday morning, May 20, 2022, at Fox’s; Chester W.V. Born December 21, 1934, in Follansbee, W.V., she was a daughter of the late Louis and Hazel (Bailey) Hoskins, Sr. A homemaker, Dolores attended Sacred Heart Catholic church in Chester, she enjoyed horseback riding, square dancing, bingo, camping, floral design and gardening, she worked at the Southside High School in the cafeteria, retiring in 1993. John A. Wilson – Georgetown
John A. Wilson, 54, of Georgetown, PA passed on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown, W.V. from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday. Born November 30, 1967, in Cannonsburg, he was a son of the late David P. Sr. and Peggy Jo (Frazier) Wilson. John had worked as a human resource officer for the United States government, he retired from The United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant (E7) after 20 years of honorable service. He served in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1990 and Iraqi Freedom from 2003 until 2006. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal for his heroic action on the battlefield in addition to over 25 other distinguished service awards, also including the Combat Action Ribbon. Audrey J. Messersmith (I Did It My Way!)
Shortly after celebrating her 70th birthday, Audrey went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2022. She was born to George and Hazel Nolte of Moon Township and was blessed to be raised by her grandparents Sam and Antoinette Pacella of Coraopolis.
Audrey was a homemaker at heart and had a few things that brought her the most joy. She loved every living creature and over the years raised a variety of farm animals. She had a special place in her heart for cats, especially Stinky who was always at her side and under feet. She enjoyed riding and spending time with her horse Tequila, who she had for over 15 years. Another pleasure in life was traveling and was ready for a trip to the Caribbean or road trip out west on a moment’s notice. Continue reading
Ruth Kovac – Monaca
At the age of 94, with her family by her side, Ruth Kovac of Monaca, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. Born in Morgantown, NC, she was the last surviving child born to the late Marvin and Grace Swink.
Ruth graduated from Monaca High School in 1945 and married Jim Kovac in 1946. They were the longest married couple in Monaca (almost 70 years) until his passing in 2016. At the age of 12, Ruth became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Monaca where she served as an Elder, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. Throughout her life, Ruth was involved in various organizations – PTA, Rainbow Girls, Presbyterian Women and Eastern Star. She was a board member of the Monaca Hall of Fame and a Judge of Elections. Ruth enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and cards, and spending time with her family and friends. She also was adventurous, celebrating her 90th birthday by taking a hot air balloon ride.
