William A. Laughlin – Georgetown (Greene Twp.)
William A. Laughlin, 82, of Georgetown (Greene Twp.), died peacefully Friday evening, February 22, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospice Beaver.
Born April 22, 1936, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a son of the late Frank Alvin and Mary Ann (Campbell) Laughlin, William along with his late wife owned and operated Laughlin’s Restaurant for 46 years retiring in 2014. He was a member and charter president of the Hookstown Volunteer Fire Dept., and a member of the Shippingport Glasgow Lodge #485 F&AM. William, Blaine Mott, and Bill Burris were the original founders and operators of the South Side Garage.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Josephine “Jo” (Geer) Laughlin, September 4, 2018; a daughter, Mariann Arnold; son-in-law, Wallace B. Miller Jr.; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Edith Laughlin.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, William A. Jr. and Kimberley Laughlin, Georgetown; Terri Jo Miller, New Cumberland, W.Va.; Scott A. Laughlin, Hookstown; Craig Arnold, Georgetown; and Keith English, Chester, W.Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Connie Laughlin, Missouri, and James B. and Donna Laughlin, Hookstown; seven grandchildren, Amber and Ashley Laughlin, James Miller, Trisha Lewis, and Pete, Jonathan and Nicole English; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA 15050, Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., where services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church officiating.
He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
