Wayne L. Boyd – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Wayne L. Boyd, 74, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died Friday afternoon, August 28, 2015, in the comfort of his home with family at his side.

Born June 10, 1941, in Hookstown, he was the last surviving child born to the late Delbert H. and Marie (Glenn) Boyd.  He was a farmer all of his life, and after retiring from farming, he continued working with Greene Twp.

Very proud of his farm, he loved tractors and tractor pulls and keeping his yard immaculate.  In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Dale Boyd and a brother-in-law, William McKenzie.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, MarJeanne (Swearingen) Boyd, whom he married Aug. 22, 1964; three children and their spouses, Jennifer and Arthur Rillo, Jasper, IN; Jill and John Bugh, Town and Country, MO; and Aaron and Gail Boyd, Rockledge, FL; his sisters-in-law, Doris Bridges, Aliquippa; Carolyn “Connie” and her husband, Tom Lombard, Georgetown, and Nadine McKenzie, Clinton; beloved grandfather of eight, Jessica, Andrea, and Nathan Rillo, Madison, Molly Kate and Will Bugh, and Connor and Jackson Boyd and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to call in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. in the Hanover Presbyterian Church, 2462 Rte. 18, Clinton, PA 15026.  The Rev. Jefferson Ellis officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dennis Arnold. Everyone is asked to meet at the church for his services.

Wayne will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.

Memorials, if desired, can be made to one’s favorite charity.
