Wanda Foringer – Shippingport

Wanda Foringer, 93, of Shippingport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, June 10, 2018. She completed a life dedicated to her faith and family.

She served in many behind-the-scene capacities at Community Bible Church, teaching and helping with children’s programs, Ladies Missionary Group, baking, and organizing and stocking the church library.

She selflessly cared for her husband, Art, and many years for her mother. Throughout her life she loved a series of Boston bull dogs, the latest being Precious and Fancy who were like children to her. Born without sight in one eye and needing braces on her feet, she never complained about her handicaps. She lived her life with a smile and a willingness to pitch in. Later in life, her constant joke, and I mean constant, was that “old age ain’t for sissies.” Wanda was the family historian, one of five children from Punxy, with a sharp mind and wit, living on her own till 93. Her happy disposition will be missed by all.

Wanda was predeceased by four siblings including a beloved brother, Harry Fleming.

Left to honor her memory is her niece, Susan and her husband Keith Daniel and her niece by marriage, Kathy and her late husband Dave Fleming. Also surviving are numerous great-nieces, and nephews and their children. Her beloved dog Fancy also survives.

Family and friends are welcome to call Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of her service at 12:30 p.m. in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050. Her pastor, Robert Kern of the Community Bible Church, Aliquippa, will officiate.

Entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
