Walter A. Collins – Formerly of Hookstown
Walter A. Collins, 89, formerly of Hookstown, died Wednesday morning, August 7, 2019, in Family Hospice Care, Huntsville, Ala.
Born May 15, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John Francis and Mary Lucille (Rydzon) Collins. Walter retired from the Duquesne Light Power Plant, working as a Control Operator. A Veteran of the Korean War, he served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Smith) Collins.
He is the beloved father of Kathleen Gittler, Cynthia (Gary) Wiegand and Christine Koosman; brother of John (Margaret) Collins; grandfather of six and great-grandfather of three.
Family and friends are welcome to call on Monday, August 12, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050.
Everyone is asked to meet at the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 100 Resurrection Road, Moon Twp. 15108, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
Interment will follow in the cemetery.
Members of the Beaver County Special Unit are to meet at the cemetery by 10 a.m. to perform Military Honors.
