Thomas J. Davidson – FRANKFORT SPRINGS BORO

Thomas J. Davidson, 81, of Frankfort Springs Boro, died Wednesday evening, November 20, 2013, in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.

Born September 24, 1932, in Windsor Heights, WV, he was a son of the late Thomas and Caroline (Brooks) Davidson. Mr. Davidson was a retired diesel mechanic working at J&L Steel for 43 years. He attended the Aliquippa School District and was a member of the Hanover Presbyterian Church. He was co-owner of the Golfview Manor Nursing Home in Aliquippa and owner of the County Line Restaurant in Frankfort Springs. He was a member of the Monaca Center Lodge No. 791 F&AM, New Castle Consistory and the Pittsburgh Syria Shrine. He was also a former supervisor of Hanover Twp.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Davidson, and a sister, Helen Currie and her late husband James Currie.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Clara A. (Near) Davidson, the couple were wed on February 9, 1951; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas J. III and his wife Colleen Davidson of Weirton, WV, and Paul A. and his wife Pamela Davidson of Georgetown; a brother and his wife, Alexander and Elizabeth Davidson of Chippewa Twp.; a sister-in-law, Angie Davidson of Beaver; an aunt, Bena Brooks of Aliquippa; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Naomi and Bill Falcocchio of Aliquippa. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kathie and her husband John Antonetti, Lori and her husband Roy Thomson, Caroline and her husband Carl Campbell, Jessica Davidson, Benjamin and his wife Casey Davidson, and Adam Davidson; six great-grandchildren; two dear friends, James Uranker and Gary Welch, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held Sunday, December 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Hanover Twp. Fire Hall.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to one’s favorite charity.
