Shirley Ann May – Hookstown (Greene Township)

Shirley Ann May, 82, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon, February 14, 2018, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born December 11, 1935, in Eldersville, Pa., a daughter of the late Floyd Leroy and Anna (Fotovich) Riddile, she worked as a waitress at the Pittsburgh Airport for over 20 years.  She was a member of Mill Creek Hill Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown and a member of Life Beaver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James G. May.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Carol and James Cooper, Hookstown; Jim May, Clinton; and Dave and Diane May of Newell, W.Va.; sister of Mary Jane and her late husband, Dale Gardner, South Carolina; Betty and her late husband, Bob Hopper, South Carolina; Leroy and Dolores Riddle, Newell, W.Va.; John and Doris Riddile, Florida; Richard and Grace, Riddile, New Manchester, W.Va.; and Frank and Karen Riddile, Follansbee, W.Va.;  six grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to call at MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA  15050, on Sunday from noon until time of service at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Harper Brady will officiate.  She will be laid to rest at Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens, Newell, W.Va.
