Ruth Virginia (Doudna) Hall – GEORGETOWN

Ruth Virginia (Doudna) Hall, 95, a long time resident of Georgetown, went to be with her Lord from the comfort of her home surrounded by family on Friday morning, July 4, 2014. She had lived with her daughter, Joy, for the last eight years of her life. 

Born September 13, 1918, in Barnesville, Ohio, she was the last of six children born to the late Dillwyn and Edith (Carter) Doudna.  A homemaker, Mrs. Hall was a member of the Imperial Church of the Nazarene where her late husband, the Rev. Herbert W. Hall, was the pastor for 24 years.  Ruth loved worshipping her Lord, feeding and watching the birds and gardening.

In addition to her parents and husband, the Rev. Herbert W. Hall, to whom she was married to on September 15, 1937, she was also predeceased by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Wilma Hall; a son, Larry Hall; a son-in-law, the Rev. Paul George; a daughter, Rosemary Hall; a grandson, Daniel Hall and a granddaughter, Tina M. Hall.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Herbert Floyd and Ruth Hall of Iowa; a daughter, the Rev. Clarie George of Michigan; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Ward and Thelma Hall of Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Robert Thoman of Georgetown and a daughter and son-in-law, Genevieve (Joy) and Roland McAfee of Georgetown.  Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine Street, Hookstown, PA  15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner/Director, on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. only.  Everyone attending her services are asked to meet at the Imperial Church of the Nazarene, 1080 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where they will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m.  Her son, the Rev. Herbert F. Hall officiating assisted by her granddaughter, the Rev. Angela Kress. 

She will be laid to rest beside her late husband in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
