Rudolph ‘Rudy’ Livada Jr. – HOOKSTOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Rudolph “Rudy” Livada Jr., 81, of Hookstown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly Monday evening, May 18, 2015, at his Hookstown residence.

Born in Hookstown on May 12, 1934, he was a son of the late Rudolph Sr. and Katherine (Kolorich) Livada. He had worked for 21 years with the Tellish Construction Company of Hookstown and was a member of the United Steelworkers organization, previously working for LTV Steel, Aliquippa Works. An avid farmer all his life, he enjoyed raising beef cattle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Violet Zrelak; his half-brothers, George and Emil Biscan, and his half-sisters, Katherine Pivac and Mary Gamble.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Dorothy M. (Burd) Livada, the couple were married January 27, 1962. Also surviving are his son, Steve of Hookstown; two brothers and their wives, Mike and Joann Livada of Burgettstown, and Bernie and Joann Livada of Kentucky; two sisters, Ann Speicher of Monaca and Margie Aten of Utah, and a grandson, Shain Livada of Weirton, WV.

Family and friends are welcome to call Sunday from 12 to 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director. The Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski, of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, will officiate.

Memorials, if desired, may be made in his name to one’s favorite charity.
