Roy A. Snyder – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Roy A. Snyder, 79, a life-long resident of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), passed peacefully, Saturday afternoon, March 12, 2022, at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born March 13, 1942, in Georgetown, he was a son of the late William R. and Bessie R. (Six) Snyder. A farmer Roy enjoyed farming, driving his tractor, working with his hands and spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them all that he knew. He was also a veteran of the USMarines, serving as a Lance Corporal.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Gene Sickelsmith, brothers, Harry, Ray, Lewis Snyder and Fred Moore, sisters Marie Shuman and Sue Sutherin and a grandson Brady.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, JoAnn F. (DelBane) Snyder, daughters Elizabeth (Todd) Bost and Amy Sickelsmith and her fiancée Vaughn Krepps. A sister Ellen and her late husband Rajai Abuelhawa, a sister-in-law Grace Moore. Grandfather of 8, Ian, Jacob, Dalton, Trevonne, Jared, Jayden, Hailey and the late Brady. Great grandfather of 4, Landon, Jaxon, Emmett and Jeremiah.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa 15050, on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where his service will be held Monday at 11 am. He will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery; Georgetown.

Members of the Beaver County Special Unit are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12 noon to conduct honors.
