Ronald Scott Hartman Sr. – Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro)

Ronald Scott Hartman sr., 83, of Hookstown (Frankfort Springs Boro), died Wednesday evening, January 3, 2018, in the comfort of his home, with his wife and daughters at his side.

Born January 18, 1934, in Muncy, Pa., a son of the late Stanley M. Hartman and Anna M. (Scott) Reeder, Ronald had worked as a pipe inspector at J&L Steel, Aliquippa Works, and after retiring from there, he went on to work for 20 years as a custodian and security guard at South Side School. He loved to sing and enjoyed karaoke. He enjoyed talking to everybody and was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Frankfort Presbyterian Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Scott Hartman, Jr., in 1979.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Dixie M. (Coulter) Hartman, whom he married December 22, 1956; daughters, Pamela and her husband Jerry Shelton, Frankfort Springs; Tracie Hartung, Frankfort Springs; Christine Hartman, Vermont, and Rhonda Lawrence, Florida; sister, Deonne Frey, Mount Lebanon; eight grandchildren, Douglas and Katie Blaker, Christina Blaker, Kevin and Alyssa Hartung, Andromeda Bennett, Rigel Bennett, Christian Bennett, Henry John Lawrence III and Michael Paul Lawrence, and three great-grandchildren, Leilani Bennett, Izaiah Bennett and Hannah Jade Lawrence.

Family and friends are welcome to call Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. at MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa., where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Harper Brady, of the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Hookstown, officiating.

He will be laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
