Reuben K. Blair – Georgetown
With sad and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son and brother Reuben K. Blair, 62 of Georgetown. It happened suddenly on Monday evening, August 21, 2023 at Heritage Valley Beaver, E.R. Reuben was born April 29, 1961 in East Liverpool, Ohio. A son of Glenda Kay (Alger) Adams of Georgetown with whom he resided and the late Charles W. Blair.
Reuben was a proud graduate of South Side High School, he was an active volunteer with the Hookstown VFD for over 35 years, and he attended the Georgetown United Methodist Church. A man with a kind heart, he was a loyal friend and neighbor to many. He participated in countless parades and volunteered many years at the Hookstown Fair. Very proud of his heritage, Reuben was a direct descendant of veterans from the Revolutionary and Civil wars. He was also the proud owner of a 1989 Chevy Silverado and a John Deer tractor.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Debbie Blair, an aunt, Mary Lee Sherman, his uncles Harry Blair and William Alger, his beloved fur baby Thunderbolt Blair and numerous cousins and a multitude of friends survive.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME on Friday from 4 to 8 pm. His service will be conducted Saturday at 11 am in the Georgetown United Methodist Church, Market St., Georgetown, PA. 15043. EVERYONE IS ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH. His pastor the Rev. Williard C. Adkins will officiate. He will be laid to rest privately in the Hookstown Cemetery.
