Raymond C. Senile – GEORGETOWN (HANOVER TWP.)

Raymond C. Senile, 91, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), passed peacefully Monday evening, December 15, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, with family at his side.

Born February 13, 1923, he was the last surviving child born to the late Romeo and Phoebe (Young) Senile. He worked as an electrician at Weirton’s Steel diesel shop, and after retiring from there, he went to work for Larch Heating, also of Weirton. He was a member of the Christian Church of New Cumberland, WV. A veteran of World War II, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer Escort USS Varian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Bette Lea (Travis) Senile, on March 4, 2014. The couple was married January 8, 1946. He was also preceded by a brother, Edward “Sonny” Senile, and sisters, Lillian Martin, Louise Steele, Elvira Suica and Charlotte Freiling.

Surviving are his daughters and their husbands, Linda and Mike Griffith, Arkansas; Susan and David Jarrup, Georgetown; Nancy and Jeff Weber, Ohio; Anita and Marc Webster, West Virginia; Karen and George Poloka, Pittsburgh, and Donna and Jeff Clarke, Florida; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Deac, Ohio; 16 grandchildren, Michael Wilson, Neal Griffith, the late Melissa Wilson, Bryan (Emily) Jarrup, Nathan (Sandy) Jarrup, Christan (Dean) Leonard, Joe (Emily) Jarrup, Aaron (Marveen) Adams, Sean (Stephanie) Adams, Ashli (Mark) Carson, Amy Webster, Bradyn Clarke, Brody Clarke, Chloe Clarke, Ryan Weber and Kiersten Weber, and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. His pastor, the Rev. Rick Tinsky, of the Christian Church of New Cumberland, WV, will officiate.

He will be laid to rest in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton, WV.
