William F. Shinke – Frankfort Springs

William F. Shinke, 83, of Frankfort Springs, died Wednesday afternoon, April 11, 2018, at Heritage Valley Beaver.

Born November 30, 1934, in Beaver, he was a son of the late Christian and Ellen Patricia (McKenna) Shinke. He was a retired steelworker, a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a sergeant, a member of the Frankfort Presbyterian Church, and was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School class of 1952. He was a member of the New Cumberland VFW Honor Guard and most proud of his work doing NDT at nuclear power plants after retirement. David Patrick Wilson, 87, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died quietly Thursday morning, April 12, 2018, at the Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center, Brighton Twp.

Born June 19, 1930, in Kenova, W.Va., he was the last surviving son born to the late Dave and Tokie (Hensley) Wilson. He was a retired welder with Local 449 in the HVAC industry. He enjoyed spending time with the “guys” at the Center Twp. McDonald’s. Continue reading

Nancy Lou Weber – Negley, Ohio (formerly of Clinton)

Nancy Lou Weber, 84, of Negley, Ohio, formerly of Clinton, died Thursday evening, March 29, 2018, at the Vista Center, Lisbon, Ohio, with her son and daughter-in-law at her side.

Born July 9, 1933, in Clinton, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Milton and Margaret (Messner) Hays. A homemaker, she had participated with the Scouts program in her early years, and was a member of the Hanover Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. An avid baker, she catered birthday and wedding cakes for many years. She enjoyed painting and floral arranging. Continue reading

Thomas B. “Budd” Sherwood, 87, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Monday evening, March 26, 2018, in the comfort of his home, with his family at his side.

Born August 22, 1930, in Oil City, Pa., he was the only child born to the late Thomas Emmitt and Marcella Evelyn (Davis) Sherwood. He was a retired steelworker for U.S. Steel for over 43 years. An avid hobby farmer, he was a lover of animals, and would do anything for their welfare. He had a lifelong love of cars and antiques; he could look at an old bumper and tell you the make and model of the car it belonged to. Sue Ellen Roberts – Aliquippa (Hanover Twp.)

Sue Ellen Roberts, 62, of Aliquippa (Hanover Twp.), died Wednesday afternoon, March 14, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.

Born August 3, 1955, in Washington, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Gene and JoAnn (White) Roberts of Hanover Twp. Sue worked as a mechanical estimator for Scalise Industries of Bridgeville,  and was a member of the Mill Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Hookstown where she also served as a deacon. Children from the Bible Club knew her as “The Kitchen Lady.” An avid cat lover, she adopted any stray that found her. She was most proud of her mission trip she made to Brazil and had an impact on all who knew her.  Continue reading

Randy A. Whipkey, 39, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died unexpectedly on Thursday morning, March 8, 2018, in the comfort of his home.

Born November 25, 1978, in Aliquippa, he was a son of Patricia (Warrick) Hood and her companion Gary Dunfee Jr. of Ohio, and the late Glenn A. Whipkey. Randy was an avid hunter, who also enjoyed playing computer games with his many friends. Continue reading

Born August 13, 1929, in Clendenin, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Welch) Hunt. A homemaker, she was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Monaca, a retired licensed practical nurse, a member of the Appalachian Folk Music Club and had a great love of music, poetry and crafts, especially crocheting. Arthur Leroy Hill, 76, of Hookstown (Greene Twp.), died Sunday evening, February 11, 2018, with family at his side at the Brighton Rehab & Wellness Center.

Born October 19, 1941, in Monaca, he was a son of the late Arthur Thomas and Viola (Waxler) Hill. He had worked in the maintenance department of the parking centers at Pittsburgh International Airport. He also had attended a one-room schoolhouse in the Beaver County area. Continue reading
