Mildred R. Boone – HOOKSTOWN (GREENE TWP.)

Mildred R. Boone, 92, of Hookstown (Greene Township), died unexpectedly Friday, June 1, 2012, at her Hookstown residence.

Born April 26, 1920, in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Lutton) Ross. She was a member of the Mill Creek United Presbyterian Church, Hookstown, and was a retired registered nurse having worked at the Sewickley Valley Hospital as a private duty nurse. She was also a member of the South Side Senior Citizens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Boone; a brother, James Ross, and a sister, Myrtle Ross.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. Jr. and Adele Boone, Wheeling, WV, and Richard D. and Frances Boone, Hookstown; a brother and his wife, Eugene (Jean) Ross, Moon Township; a sister-in-law, Marian Ross, Coraopolis; eight grandchildren, Renee and her husband Sean Hart, Robert J. Boone, Kimberly and her husband Roger Hupp, Regina Boone, Joanne and her husband William Reeher, Richard J. and his wife Heather Boone, Cathleen and her husband Michael Machika, and Anthony and his wife Shannon Boone, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends are welcome to call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, where services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Jefferson Ellis, of the Hanover Presbyterian Church, will officate. Interment will follow in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
