Mary B. LaRue – Hookstown

Mary B. LaRue, 89, of Hookstown passed peacefully on Saturday morning, April 1, 2023 with family at her side at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born March 30, 1934 in Frankfort Springs, she was the last surviving daughter born to the late John and Laverta (Baker) Melvin.

Mary belonged to the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, worked as a meat processer at Nelson’s, also she had worked for South Side garage on the handicapped buses.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles J. LaRue Jr., on January 3, 2013 and two sisters Myrtle Cox and Betty Boyer.

Surviving are her children Charles J. LaRue III, Barbara Frazier, William LaRue, Shirley Yeager, Richard LaRue and Gregory LaRue. Also surviving are numerous grand and great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, Pa. 15050, on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where her service will be held Tuesday at 11 am. The Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski of the Hookstown Free Methodist Church officiating.

She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
