Margery H. (Bradford) Houser – ALIQUIPPA (Raccoon Township)
Margery H. (Bradford) Houser, of Aliquippa (Raccoon Twp.), died Saturday morning, November 21, 2015, at Friendship Ridge.
Born Aug. 29, 1918, in Stoneboro, PA, she was a daughter of the late Burton Sommers and Byrd (Houser) Bradford. Margery was a Christian, a homemaker, wonderful cook, skilled woodworker and talented pianist. On a Sunday afternoon, she enjoyed Chinese checkers, Jacks, Scrabble and other table games with her children and grandchildren. We will miss our mom but her and dad are having a great reunion.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Frank Kline Houser; a son, John Foster Houser; brothers, David, Jennings and Philip Bradford; sisters, Esther Bekaert and Gladys Wigfield; two daughters-in-law, Glady Smith Houser and Cathy Cannon Houser; a brother-in-law, Foster P. Houser and a sister-in-law, Mary Bradford.
Surviving are her children, Frank K. Houser, Ohio; Robert B. Houser, Monaca; Kenneth S. and his wife, Courtney Houser, Aliquippa, and Marilyn and her husband, Baxter Brock, Kentucky; a sister, Ellinda Blews, Stoneboro, PA; a daughter-in-law, Penny Foy Houser, Tennessee; an ex-daughter-in-law and special friend, Beverly McHenry Houser, Aliquippa; 13 grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grand-child, one step-great-great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, Daniel M. McConnell, Owner-Director, on Tuesday from 2 to 6 p.m. only.
Everyone is asked to meet at the Community Bible Church, 4549 Route 151, Aliquippa, PA 15001 on Wednesday where her services will be held at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Robert Kern, officiating.
Margery will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
