Kenneth William Shank – Georgetown (Hanover Twp.)

Kenneth William Shank, Sr, 84, of Georgetown (Hanover Twp.), died peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday morning, October 17, 2021. Born September 20, 1937, in Apollo, he was a son of the late Harold Vincent and Eleanor (Smith) Shank. Ken had worked as a steel worker at Crucible steel, until his retirement in 1982. An avid NHRA drag racing fan who loved anything involving the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, he loved flying with his nephew Carl and fixing airplanes along with anything that was broken. He was not afraid to get into anything.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Sonny, Ronald, Jimmy and Buddy Shank and a sister Bonnie Brucker.

He is survived by his children and their spouses Kenneth W. (Donna) Shank Jr. of AZ., Lynette (Greg) Sparks of Midland, Holly (Bill Marcy) Shank of Georgetown, Douglas (Christi) Shank of Georgetown, Brent (Rose) Shank of Industry and Ashley Shank of Wellsville. Brother of Barbara Kellerman of Blairsville. Grandfather of 12, great-grandfather of 4.

As per his wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11 am at the Hookstown Free Methodist Church, the Rev. Wilmer J. Olszewski will officiate. Memorials in his name, if desired, can be made to the Hookstown Free Methodist Church or the Community benefit Society.
