Judie L. Barr – Shippingport
Judie L. Barr, 74, of Shippingport, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning, October 16, 2021, at UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital; Pittsburgh.
Born June 1, 1947, in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Mabel “Chood” (Danser) Maier. A homemaker, Judie was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church where she was very active. Her life was all about her grandchildren, which her life revolved around.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Frank R.”Bob” Barr on January 1, 2012, and a brother Greg Maier. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Mark (Amy) Maier of Brighton Twp., Steven (Melissa) Barr and Brandon (Tonya) Barr all of Georgetown, her daughters by heart are Stephanie Miller and Jessica Strothers both of Monaca and her brother Lanny Maier of Rochester.
Doting grandmother of 9, Rocco, Shane, Madison, Luke, Steven, Brandon, John, Mark and Sara; great-grandmother of 3, Jace, Layla and Nathan.
Family and friends are welcome to call at the McConnell Funeral Home, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where her services will be held on Thursday at 11 am, her friend and pastor the Rev. Sue Pickering of the Green Valley United Methodist Church will officiate. She will be laid to rest in the Mill Creek Hill Cemetery; Georgetown.
