Joy Lynn ‘Jo’ (Wells) Nola – OHIOVILLE

Joy Lynn Nola (Wells) “Jo”, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the age of 39. Joy was a lifelong resident of Ohioville Borough, PA where she lived in her childhood home with her husband Michael Nola II, their beautiful little boy, Michael Stephen Nola III (Mikey) 4, and her stepson Jacob Michael Mallinder (Jake), 19.

Joy was born in Aliquippa, PA on August 27, 1975 to Jerry and Linda Wells. Joy is sister to Jeffrey Wells, Lori Coukart, and Dr. Hope Moser; aunt to Katrina Lynn Nola, 23; Ashante Alana Nola Harris, 18; Molly Moser, 17; Cassady Coukart, 16; Macey Moser, 13; McKenna Coukart, 13; and her nephews; Ethan Wells, 12; Evan Wells, 10, and Alexander Kane Nola Freeman, 5.

Joy and Mike have been married for 9 years and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Joy graduated from Western Beaver High School in 1994 and received her Master’s Degree in Special Education from Geneva College. Joy was a phenomenal Interventional Specialist since 2007, working in the Southern Local School District. Joy loved teaching and her students were very special to her. She lit up a room when she spoke of “her kids”.

Joy is survived by her husband, Mike, Ohioville, PA; her sweet Mikey; Jake; her parents, Jerry and Linda Wells of Wellsville, OH; her brother, Jeffrey (Susan) Wells, New Kensington, PA; Lori (Michael) Coukart, Grove City, OH; Dr. Hope Moser, League City, Texas; in-laws, Michael Nola Sr. and Linda Nola, Hookstown, PA; sister-in-law, Candace Nola, Pittsburgh, PA; her puppy, JD; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends and loved ones.

Joy was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Mr. Ralph Wells; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mabel Wells; maternal grandfather, Mr. Mack Pruszenski, and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Shirley Pruszenski.

Visitation is planned for Tuesday, February 10, 2 to 7 p.m. at Hookstown Free Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 255 Main Street, Hookstown (724) 573-9692, with a memorial service from 7 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a trust will be set up for “The Mikey Nola Trust”.
