Joseph ‘Dale’ Brodmerkel – IMPERIAL (FINDLAY TWP.)

Joseph “Dale” Brodmerkel, 55, of Imperial (Findlay Twp.), died Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2016, in Allentown, PA.

Born May 29, 1960, in Sewickley, he was the beloved son of Joe T. and Dorothy E. (Brown) Brodmerkel of Frankfort Springs. He was a technical consultant with Stafford Cutting Dies of Charlotte, NC. He was a wrestling coach at South Side High School and was one of the group that started the youth wrestling team. He was on numerous softball teams, enjoyed car racing and was an avid golfer.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kay L. (Gardner) Brodmerkel, whom he married May 30, 1981; sons, Brandon A. Brodmerkel and Nikki Zurcher, and their children (Dale’s grandchildren), David “DJ,” Devin and Link of Frankfort Springs, and Dustin J. Brodmerkel of Imperial; his  brothers, Charles Brodmerkel, Frankfort Springs, and Don and Lisa Brodmerkel, Georgetown, and their daughter, Cameron; paternal grandmother, Betty Brodmerkel, Frankfort Springs, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford Gardner, Aliquippa, and the late Jacquelyn Gardner.

Family and friends are welcome to call on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050, where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Neal, of the Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, officiating.

He will be laid to rest in Mill Creek Hill Cemetery, Georgetown.
