Joe T. Brodmerkel – Frankfort Springs

Joe “T” Brodmerkel, 84, of Frankfort Springs, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Joe was born January 26, 1935, in Burgettstown. He was the son of the late Robert M. and Edith (Tarr) Brodmerkel. Joe was a retired millwright from J&L Steel for 33 years. He served in the U.S. Navy, an avid race fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joseph “Dale” Brodmerkel and sister, Dolores Ross.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Brown) Brodmerkel, whom he married June 13, 1959; two sons, Charles “Chuck” Brodmerkel and Don (Lisa) Brodmerkel; daughter-in-law; Kay Brodmerkel; step-mother, Betty (McCoy) Brodmerkel;  brothers and sisters, Wray Brodmerkel, Cleveland, Ohio, Betty Mitchell, Frankfort Springs, Robert “Robbie” (Debbie) Brodmerkel, Clinton, Clay (Bev) Brodmerkel, Georgetown, Ronnie (Deborah) Irwin, Latrobe, Gary (Jamie) Irwin, Fla., Susan Brodmerkel, Sugarland, Texas and Dean Brodmerkel, Frankfort Springs. He was the grandfather of three grandchildren, Brandon (Nikki) Brodmerkel, Dustin (Shawna) Brodmerkel and Cameron Brodmerkel; four great grandchildren Devin Brodmerkel, Link Brodmerkel, David Locke and Lucas Wilson and many special nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are welcome to call Sunday, December 29, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the MCCONNELL FUNERAL HOME, 447 Pine St., Hookstown, PA 15050. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery, Georgetown.
